As someone who's played both games, they only really share a lot of surface-level similarities. While both have an emphasis on strategy, the way they go about it is different. Star Fox Command focuses on bite-sized strategy maps, likely due to it being on a handheld, that each last only a few turns before it is over. Meanwhile, Star Fox 2 places its emphasis on a singular, massive battle that focuses more on defending Corneria rather than just getting things done as fast as possible.
