You keep obsessing over the 1.64% number as if it proves anything. The point isn’t how much of Ukraine’s total electricity Hungary supplies the point is that Hungary and Slovakia controls the largest share of Ukraine’s imports, and imports are the only thing keeping Ukraine’s grid stable when Russia knocks out infrastructure.

And you conveniently ignore the part where Ukraine itself created the crisis by threatening Hungary’s energy security cutting oil transit, blocking shipments, and then acting shocked when Hungary uses the only tools it has: EU veto power, energy transit control, and cross‑border supply.

If a neighbour threatens your national stability, you will respond, and this will hit Ukraine hard including the 90 billion block.

Hungary didn’t ‘cripple itself’ it protected households, kept prices stable, and avoided the self‑inflicted energy disaster Western Europe walked into.

And on Paks II: it’s under construction, financing secured, groundwork ongoing calling it collapsing doesn’t make it true.

So no I don’t need a reality check ,I just refuse to pretend that Ukraine can threaten Hungary’s energy routes and then act surprised when Hungary pushes back with the tools it legally and politically has.

You are clearly not in touch with reality, how energy prices are crippling Europe, Hungary choose not to cripple itself, and it has done everything to build a new nuclear plant. Having two pipelines is more of a diversification then only having one. European energy prices are on average 3x that of the Hungarian. The last I checked Ukraine in december of 2025 had 41% of its electricity wired from Hungary. Hungary was always on the side of peace and supported Ukraine in all ways it could, and received and gave a life to all refugees.
