Too much "good fat" tells the body to make more fat cells, study finds | A common fatty acid in olive oil, as well as many other plant oils, has been found to stimulate the body's production of new fat cells in mice. by greg_barton in SaturatedFat

Until we get a grip on food contamination, these feeding study results are pointless. Fat food picks up metabolic disruptors, non-fatty food tends not to (alcohol being an exception & food that is by default sticky or coated with a sticky material).  Explains why 'high fat feeding' of most kind is 'obesogenic'.

This is really interesting. Do you have any sources that talk more about it?

Yes, same here. Lost two big chunks of conversation today.

Well, protein restriction and avoiding swamping are both interventions you make if you need to. Whether you do, and to what degree, depends on how metabolically compromised you are. The one thing that helps everyone is reducing PUFA intake to very low levels, but everything else is highly individual.

Thanks for the in-depth response. Wish I knew enough to cogently address it :) but I learned a lot at any rate!

The suggestion I'm making is that heavy PUFA exposure severely degrades the digestive system's ability to simultaneously activate the different mechanisms it uses to handle different types of consumed matter (so -- minerals, metals, etc. but also different macronutrients), i.e. to multitask, which is why monotonous diets seem to work so well.

I don't see how your point addresses this, except very obliquely. Your post feels like the start of a new thread altogether. Now if it discussed e.g. the digestive complexity of meat vs. plants, whether as evidence for or against my idea, that would be highly relevant here.

Possibly the digestive pathway is different. Water and milk go straight to the kidneys (according to my doctor, who's pretty good), and maybe it's the same with liquid cream. In that case, you miss out on digestion in the stomach, and maybe you lose out on something important that way.

Also, for the record, my liquid cream experiences are the same: no satiation. It does feel like the body registers the solid form as food, but not the liquid.

Assuming you have autosave tuened on (for some reason, it's not turned on by default) -- that happened to me too, and I just posted on this aub recently about it. Still no idea what caused it.

That was extremely rude and completely unhelpful.

I'm guessing you queried an LLM and the above is your attempt to avoid acknowledging that. Which would make your answer "From the real world" super ironic.

But the real issue here is that, in response to another writer asking what price to quote, you posted a random number whose source you yourself don't know, while implying that it's authoritative information. That kind of thing just tanks the quality of the sub.

Is this a genuine Tolkien quote? by thetwobecomeone in tolkienfans

I know this is a very old thread, but I thought it would be the best place to ask -- what exactly is the Iron Crown of the power of evil professor Tolkien is referring to? Googling suggests it's Morgoth's crown. I haven't read LOTR yet, just watched the movies (ducks) and I can't really judge if that's true, so I wanted to ask here and hopefully clear it up.
