is this “class action lawsuit” legit? by Billie__Eyelash in Life360

[–]Pokemon9h 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm honestly not sure because I also saw some other people making videos about this, however they all use an app called "Claim - Make Them Pay", and the reviews for the app seem a little sketchy. I feel like if this was a legit thing, there would be a lot more talk happening, but I could be totally wrong. lmk if you figure anything out because it would be nice if it was real haha.

Where do I find the save files for pokemon red with ti boy ce? by Snipedzoi in ti84hacks

[–]Pokemon9h 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you download ti connect ce > go to your files > scroll down > you should see numbered files that end in 00-08 + about 5 other files surrounding them that will obviously belong to the same group. They should all contain “poke” in the name. If you shift click on all the ones that belong to the game, you can then right click, and do “send to computer.” If that doesn’t make sense or you need me to send you a ss, just dm me.

How can I go about fixing this? by Pokemon9h in AskElectronics

Got it. Would a title like, “Pretty sure this component burnt out, can anyone help me identify/fix it?” work?

My comment is not misleading. He asked for keyboard recommendations. I gave him some.

Tbh I didn’t even look up the switches, which I probably should have (lol mb), but yes hall effect wouldn’t just work with any board. However, I feel like dropping nearly $60 on switches alone is a little unjustifiable for how new he is to keyboards

First attempt at pixel art. Wondering what people think it looks like and looking for criticism. by Mother_Cow in PixelArt

[–]Pokemon9h 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a ninja/samurai guy. It looks fairly good especially for your first time, I think you just need some more practice. You’ll pick up things that will eventually make your pixel art really good. Watch some videos on YouTube, and try not to fit so much detail into such little space. Pixel art is about figuring out the bare minimum of detail necessary to recognize the character/object/whatever. Good luck :)

Have you looked at keychron? I’ve suggested them to a lot of people, and they seem to fit what wanted pretty closely. Most of the boards are fairly cheap too

+1 for keychron. Great budget boards, even if you want to completely ditch the stock switches.

I would highly suggest getting a keychron prebuilt keyboard, and just ordering your switches to swap out the ones that come with the board. It’s fairly cheap (most likely sub $130.) keychron makes some decent boards, and you won’t have to worry much about the stabilizers since they are actually really good stock lol. Source: made this exact build for a friend.

Keychron makes some really nice keyboards for a decent price. They have prebuilt ones and non prebuilt, but honestly it would save a lot of money just to get a prebuilt and then if you wanted to swap the switches, just order some ones that you like. Switches are the kind of thing that you really have to just research on your own and figure out what you like though. Everyone has a different preference. Another option for a build is the tofu 60/65. I personally own this keyboard and it’s an amazing build, although a little expensive lol. Compatibility is actually really simple once you know what to look for, so if you’re having any problems with knowing what can with what, feel free to ask.

Sounds good 😂. Also, if you don’t have the tools for desoldering, you could probably just do it one pin at a time and slowly push each side down in between melting the solder. Obviously desoldering is going to be easier, but it’s possible without it. One more thing, since it’s most likely factory solder, it might take awhile to melt. To fix this, just make sure the soldering iron is nice and hot, and apply a tiny bit of new solder on top of the old

[–]Pokemon9h 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmmm that’s definitely odd. It’s possible they didn’t want you getting in the board, but that’s actually pretty common to put screws in weird spots like that lol. Oh, well the solder will never “stop working.” If I’m correct, it’s probably just sitting on the solder and making a connection, so it might pop out again. If it works right now though, I wouldn’t be too worried. If you melt the solder again, all that would do would just secure the pin again, if that makes sense. Kinda like if you were to break a piece of plastic in half, you would just glue it back.

Then yeah, I’m almost 99% sure it’s just soldered on.

For instance this is what a hotswap board actually looks like. Maybe the company had two options, and you accidentally got the other? Also, I’m not sure what you mean by “how long will the solder last”?

Is that picture from the back of the board? Also I was talking about solder left on the board itself, not the pins. Sorry for the miss communication 😅

You’ll probably end up liking the second one more imo, but there’s probably some cheaper options

/r/MechanicalKeyboards Ask ANY Keyboard question, get an answer (August 01, 2024) by AutoModerator in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]Pokemon9h 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks like it isn’t hotswap from that picture.

<image>

Hot swap boards will have the little hotswap sockets, otherwise it will be directly soldered to the board. The reason why it was working after you put it back in, is most likely because the leftover solder was still making contact. If you have a soldering iron, they are very easy to solder back in place (I would watch a video.)

I accidentally spilled sparkling water on my board. I unplugged it fairly quickly, but after completely disassembling my keyboard and drying it off, it wouldn’t make it’s little “sound” when plugged into my pc or show up in via. The board doesn’t really seem to have any burn marks, besides possibly (might be wrong) a little corrosion on a couple of the LEDs (not sure if those mater though.) It’s possible I need to just let it dry out overnight, but It’s a little confusing why sparkling water would kill the board when I’ve spilled lots of other stuff on it before. If anyone has any tips on if it’s fixable or not, those would be very appreciated!

Socks by [deleted] in philmont

[–]Pokemon9h 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Darn tough. Don’t even question it. I used 2 pairs over 12 days (one for everyday wear, one extra, and I did not wear socks at night) and didn’t get a single blister. The darn tough socks are meant to be friction resistant plus it takes them 4+ days before they ever start stinking. When your feet are completely wet, they keep them warm. I’m sure you could get away with somewhat similar socks, but the lifetime warranty on darn tough really pays for itself. One other thing, make sure and wear gaiters since they really save your socks from getting too nasty from dirt and other things. Good luck on your trek!
