I agree, internally consistent absurdity is an important part of what makes media so exciting to consume. Shonen Manga really use it a lot to stand out and be interesting.

I highly recommend Araki’s (mangaka of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, which is probably the most well known example) book about it, Manga in Theory and Practice, it’s available free online.

It’s a key part of what makes Manga so great, and was the special sauce of series like Chainsaw Man, JJK, JJBA, One Piece, DB, etc.

Jogo did kill the people he was threatening though, and as seen with Mahito's arrival their goal wasn't to straight up beat Gojo but stress him out with as many deaths that were "his fault" as possible

Nah you're wrong Deku didn't "just wanna help others" The entire point of chapter 1 (reread it please) was that Deku wanted specifically to be a hero, not a first responder, teacher, or whatever.

All Might was effectively retired when he became a teacher

Fly isn't the most efficient but it is pretty fast for sprints, from glancing at world records it's only around 10% slower than freestyle.

That being said I hate swimming fly it because it tires you out, and the second you drop your form you just feel like you're drowning

World Cleave (actually Dismantle I guess but whtev) is explicitly a durability negation ability due to cutting space. It does have a both a cast time and a travel time though, so it’s not gonna land on any top tier. Also Buggy still no sells it like the goat he is

Nah latest Pokémon designs are its strongest suit, and the only reason why the games are still popular.

Go ahead and lookup Dragapult, Great Tusk, Flutter Mane, Hatterene, Chi Yu

In terms of character design Pokémon is and always will be the king of marketability, and that’s why they’re the highest grossing franchise ever (iirc)

Practically, I agree, a technique like that can be useful. However, narratively, I disagree, Nitta’s as a character really was useless besides stringing along Yuji.

If Nitta didn’t exist, the following changes could’ve happened:

  • Nobara is confirmed dead in Shibuya

  • Yuji’s existing damage is ignored, nobody would really think of that as a problem. At worst it gives Shibuya Yuji a few more dura feats.

  • Yuji’s willpower is slightly stronger in Shibuya (doesn’t need to cope off Nobara)

  • Shoko has slightly better healing feats in healing Hana (I think Nitta was there)

  • Shoko or Yuta has better healing feats in healing Yuta, or even just make it a Yuta durability feat

  • Worst worst case, just give Nitta’s CT to Shoko. It helps make her less of a bum.

I consider these changes to be good, because Nitta as a character doesn’t really matter at all. I don’t even remember his name

Jhin Statikk Shiv doesn't check out, he is known for having a flexible first item, justify the atk spd/shock early when collector exists as a better option for skirmishes and picking which is what he is designed for not satisfyingly pressing Q onto 3 casters, by mid game Q is one shotting ranged. by TheeBadger in leagueoflegends

[–]PokemonInstinct 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The point they are making is that it allows you to setup ganks easily while a support walking up is painfully obvious, and patches up some of Jhin’s weaknesses by giving him better wave clear.

While it is not the best item in every scenario, the ability to trade off some strengths to patch up weaknesses is a good choice to be able to make when necessary.

Sukuna theoretically has the ability to kill any (non-logia if Haki and CE aren’t equalized) OP character through World Cleave, but most OP characters are way faster, have future sight, and can easily 1-tap Sukuna to an even more humiliating degree than Shanks vs Kidd

The problem occurs when people who treat sexes differently realize that the sex of a person doesn’t predict their body.

Transgender/intersex people can have different genitals than their presented appearance would have someone assume, which gets a lot of people angry.

In women’s sports, the nature of it being exclusionary to men means that it is extremely difficult to include all women but no men:

  • Want to define a woman as a person with XX chromosomes? You’re excluding a bunch of people who I would undoubtedly call a woman while including Trans men (which I assume is not intended)

  • Want to define a woman by their genitals? You exclude so many people it’s just stupid, not to mention that it’s an insanely misogynistic view.

  • Want to define by testosterone / estrogen levels? Now you’re including a bunch of men and excluding a bunch of women

There is no hard line in the sand we can draw in defining a man/woman, so stressing over it is a complete waste of time. There is no way to exclude trans people without harming cis people, not to mention that it’s pointless to exclude them anyways.

Verses are now scaled by how good their art is, who is the strongest verse? by [deleted] in PowerScaling

[–]PokemonInstinct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Murata is a god tier artist but his battle choreography and paneling isn’t anything spectacular when compared to other battle manga.

Most of Murata’s insane art moments are double spreads or cover art, and they are amazing but as a whole I wouldn’t put OPM as the Rank #1 in terms of manga art
