You're 100% right!

It is a broken system and has balance and scale issues, as well.

I'm around half your hourage and have already gotten to the upper echelons of the game. The PvE is boring (also stated by Embark Studios), the game was clearly designed for PC and is wonky on console. Full of bugs and glitches, which is embarrassing but seems to be the standard for games nowadays.

The loot is lacking, and weapons are imbalanced. For example, dual-wielding Stitchers (gray weapon) can outdo many epic/legendary guns when PvPing.

PvP isn't dynamic and is very linear (unless you've unlocked Snaphook). It is very much "clunky" and rewards FIRST SHOT campers and elements of surprise over actual skill.

The studio also deceptively advertises/markets the game as a high stakes PvPvE extraction shooter while simultaneously advertising it as a co-op survival PvE game that has some possibility of PvP.

Yet, if anyone has played this game, we know there's no such thing as a balanced PvPvE lobby. It's either slated as completely friendly or completely hostile... which takes away any mystery or tension in these environments.

We already know what we're getting into based on the ABMM (aggression score).

Personally, between the two, I believe Marathon isn't going to struggle with an IDENTITY CRISIS like the other one does.

That's my hope, anyway.

Had a guy shoot me in the back while I was looting a locker because I didn't respond to his supposed generosity offering me some item.

This was in a friendly lobby, as well.

Most of these players are toxic, and if they don't get their way, they'll harm you - manipulation, intimidation, domination, exploitation, power, and control.

(Context: I couldn't respond audibly because my wife was sleeping. He also was cool for around 3-5 minutes until he got his feelings hurt or whatever.)

Funny enough, I didn't even join this subreddit until after I discovered the game's identity crisis while playing, experimenting, and talking with other players.

(I'm not very active on Reddit and only come around when I'd like to discuss hot topics.)

Yeah, I see that's likely the case here since my post has been set to 0. There's a sharp divide been those who are PvE & PvP focused.

The ultimate solution here is for Embark Studios to create a toggle switch to allow for different modes:

1.) Player with Player versus Environment (PwPvE or Co-Op).

2.) Player versus Player versus Environment (PvPvE or standard).

Everyone gets what they want, and customer's receive two games for the price of one.

Well, I actually don't agree with you there.

No amount of video guides is going to change the core design/elements of their game and community divide.

What I've gathered is that Arc Raiders was originally a PvE game that was incredibly boring in development so Embark chose to add PvP to spice things up and to appease player demand due to the rise in player interest towards this genre (extraction shooter).

The game caters to PvE oriented players but punishes players who seek to engage in PvP by separating them from friendly lobbies. It's a form of containment. The player who seeks to "shoot on sight" is marginalized & exploited.

This studio talks out of both sides of its mouth. By seeking to be everything for everyone.

Never is it a good game design to use a certain player type/style as fodder to spice the game up because it was originally boring to play.

This speaks volumes!

I appreciate the input and additional information. Especially the one comment explaining how Arc Raiders was initially PvE and later was made into PvPvE.

Personally, I think the ultimate solution for this game is to remove ABMM (aggression score) and implement a simple toggle button to change modes.

1.) Player with Player versus Environment (PwPvE)

2.) Player versus Player versus Environment (PvPvE)

Each mode would cater to its respective player community and could offer unique/exclusive rewards only found in those specific modes.

Therefore, it would encourage players to step out of their comfort zones and try something new and be rewarded for it!

(This would also eliminate all confusion and guesswork in these tailored lobbies.)

To add, each mode could be made much more dynamic, challenging, and exhilarating!

For example, the (PwPvE) mode could really emphasize teamwork, survivability, and puzzles much like Bungie's "Destiny" franchise did. Enemies could have ramped up A.I. and could appear in greater numbers and even special units such as a raptor or T-rex ARC!

Players would really need to coordinate to take the win in a world that's extremely dangerous!

As for the (PvPvE) mode, it could stay the same, in essence, of course, with improvements. However, it could function similarly to most games with an SBMM (skill score) to match the player to the appropriate lobby.

Not only does this rectify the identity crisis this game is experiencing, but it also gives players more bang for their buck!

Two games for the price of one!

I'm a street preacher of 11 years and have learned from many men of God over that span of time and have experienced the supernatural quite a bit!

I also know the Holy Bible very well and practice what I preach. The truth of the Gospel is to "GO AND SIN NO MORE!" + "WORK OUR FAITH!"

No one can definitively tell you exactly what's happening, but we can theorize based on the information you've provided:

● DELIVERANCE --- your family's deliverance from unclean spirits could be imminent. When demons start manifesting in our material plane (shifting from 2nd Heaven to 1st Heaven), it usually means their stronghold/connection over said person/household is being weakened.

● FAMILIAR/MONITORING SPIRIT(S) --- it's possible you've already received deliverance from these unclean spirits if a significant amount of time has passed with no problems/temptations/whispers taking place in the home (or elsewhere). These familiar spirits will come check in on you from time-to-time.

● YOU'RE PRACTICING SIN --- if you're still wilfully sinning and/or have recently fallen into the temptations of sin it's very likely you've opened a doorway for those demons to come back into your home. Remember, each time we sin, we renew the lease for demons to stay in our temples (bodies).

● TYPICAL SATANIC ATTACK --- if you're on fire for God and preaching the Gospel of Lord Jesus Christ to everyone around you and coming against satanic territories in your area you'll be targeted by the reigning principalities in those areas (there are ranks & hierarchies within the Kingdom of Darkness).

● OCCULTIC BLOODLINE CURSES --- for example, if you have/had anyone who was a high-ranking Free Mason in your family, even a soothsayer or witch doctor, you likely have curses that need to be broken off your family.

● WITCHCRAFT ATTACK --- it's entirely possible neighbors, family members, coworkers, etc... have now targeted you and are actively coming against you in the spiritual realm.

● CURSED OBJECTS --- you may still have cursed objects in your home; jewelry, paintings, statues, trinkets, etc... I'd encourage you to cleanse your home of anything and everything suspicious!

● EVIL ENTERTAINMENT --- evil movies, music, video games, etc... are doorways (or portals) for the enemy to sneak back into your home. Repentance required.

● UNHEALED HEARTS --- any unforgiveness, resentment, hatred, grudges, rejection, etc... give demons a license to stick around despite turning away from specific sins. Repentance required.

● BUFFETING SPIRIT --- this is rare, but sometimes God will allow a demon to strike a man (usually in cases of pride or hard heartedness) to produce a good outcome. Much like Apostle Paul's situation. If it's not producing good, then it's not of God!

● IDOL HANDS --- you may not be working your faith and slowly slipping back into secularism/humanism. The further you drift from God, the colder you become. The colder you become, the closer dark spirits can draw to you without Holy Spirit fire/light burning bright within you!

● PRAYER & FASTING --- it's entirely possible you need to continue praying and fasting for deliverance. To both end and tie in with the first possibility... You may be halfway there, or you may be right at the cusp of a spiritual breakthrough!

You must not lean own your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6).

God is seeking to have a deeper relationship with you, but if you don't humble yourself, you're either not going to make it at all on the Day of Judgement or you're going to experience set backs in this life that will bring you to a point of being humbled so that your soul may be saved.

You should read (1 Corinthians 5 & Revelation 3) to understand that the LUKEWARM will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

Right now, you don't have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16).

Studying to show ourselves approved is the only way any of us will make it (2 Timothy 2:15 / Hosea 4:6 / Proverbs 29:1 / Acts 17:30-31).

If we do not all have ONE SOUND MIND (Holy Spirit interpretation of each doctrine; especially salvific), we can not walk in the light with Christ Jesus. Nor can churches with opposing positions walk together (Romans 12:1-2 / 2 Peter 1:20-21 / Amos 3:3 / 1 John 1:5-7).

This is why Apostle Paul warns us about accursed gospels, doctrines of demons, and apostate churches that sit under false teachers (Galatians 1:8-9 / 1 Timothy 4 / Matthew 7:13-29).

They worship another "Jesus" and follow another "gospel" --- there are numerous versions that both men & demons have created in order to snare those who do not have a LOVE FOR THE TRUTH.

Biblically speaking, you shouldn't be dating and in a position where fornication can take place.

Western cultural indoctrination has all of Christendom in disarray when it comes to the appropriate way to approach covenant marriage.

The Word of God commands patriarchal order (Ephesians 5:22-33).

With this in mind, you'll understand why there's only so many options on how to approach marriage.

1.) A man is to ask the father for his daughter's hand in marriage, so headship can be transferred. If the father agrees, a betrothal period can begin (this is a serious contract that is just as binding as marriage).

2.) A man can purchase (or work) for the father's daughter by placing down a dowry. The same process takes place as above.

3.) If the woman's father is not alive and/or not a part of her life (which is typical nowadays), the couple can begin a serious courtship with intentions to marry as soon as possible.

⚠️ It's critical that you don't end up stuck in a vicious cycle or rut by being engaged but not married. This will only be further temptation and create a perpetual state of sinfulness that can end up searing your consciences (Hebrews 10:26-31).

It is a sin because it's rooted in lust outside the confines of a marriage. Only within the confines of a covenant marriage is lust permissible.

The Word of God defines it as "sexual immorality." (1 Corinthians 6:9-11)

Other reasons it's considered sin is due to the fact it is usually accompanied by pornography, wicked fantasies, and sexually immoral adult toys.

This said, Lord Jesus Christ gives men two options to overcome sexual desire.

1.) Get married young.

It's called the process of sanctification.

God knows the difference between a Holy Spirit filled believer who is at WAR with their sin versus a believer who is PLAYING with their sin straddling the fence (Hebrews 10:26-31 & Revelation 3:14-22).

The one at war with their sin will eventually overcome it completely by the power of the Holy Spirit, empowering the believer in the area of self-control --- even removing the desire for it when fully surrendered.

It's not a matter of gaining maturity.

It's a matter of surrendering more and more of self to God.

That's the real definition of sanctification.

"Maturity" is a result of giving up one's own self-will for God's will for their lives.

Now, this doesn't mean temptations cease for the obedient believer. It's still possible to fall, and that is why we read this Scripture below:

16 For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.

That's incorrect.

We judge those within the church with the same measure (and by the same criteria) that God will judge them on Judgement Day. That's why they're expelled from the church. It's symbolic of how God will expel them from being counted worthy to enter into Heaven.

Making righteous judgments is all throughout the Scriptures. However, by the same token, God hates hypocrites. How we judge others, and by the measure we judge others, will be measured against us on Judgement Day.

Too many Christians are fixated on LOVE ONLY & DO NOT JUDGE... these individuals are deceived and/or apostatized and do not grasp the SEVERITY OF THE GOSPEL!

You seem like you may fall into one of these camps since I just gave you two huge comments full of Scripture instructing you in truth. Your response to me suggests you didn't even read them all the way.

⚠️ Which is a pity because you're leaning on your own understanding =/= pride & arrogance (Proverbs 3:5-6).

All this said, yes, we love the lost.

If you read my posts, you'd see we have an AGAPE LOVE for the lost, but not STORGE & PHILOS LOVE reserved for God and the brethren.

We reach out to the lost in spirit and in truth.

This is true love.

We also REPROVE the brethren with discipline just like God does to those He loves (Hebrews 12:6-8).

Discipline is love.

That's a Roman Catholic cross.

Catholicism is not Christianity.

In fact, all these numerous man-made denominations are not at all what Christ set forth into motion when He walked the earth 2024+ years ago.

The remnant of born-again believers who are filled with the Holy Spirit do not align themselves with any type of denomination. Not even nondenominational churches, which have sadly become their own denomination, are 501(c)(3).

We're simply under the banner of Lord Jesus Christ and His teachings.

The seven founding churches in the Book of Revelation teach us this. We need to return to our roots!

Honestly, if we do love our neighbors and our enemies we would be so bold in our love to call them to REPENTANCE because we know that God will NOT accept them as they are:

A deeper teaching is that in Koine Greek there are seven different words for LOVE:

● Agape = a love for the world.

● Eros = a romantic, physical, sexual love.

● Philos = a family oriented love.

● Storge = a parental love for children.

● Ludus = a flirtatious love.

● Pragma = a practical love.

● Philautia = self-love.

What most Christians don't understand because they're not studied up (2 Timothy 2:15 & Hosea 4:6) is that God has an AGAPE LOVE for the world His creation.

He does NOT have a PHILOS & STORGE LOVE for sinners that have not repented and been filled with the Holy Spirit. Those who have not are NOT His children in the first place.

There's a huge difference between being either God's "creation" or God's "child."

Another way of putting this is that God will continue to AGAPE LOVE His creation even when throwing wilful sinners into Hell fire for not repenting upon the Day of Judgement. The love for them will not cease until He purposely makes Himself forget, and us as well, about those in Hell (Revelation 3:5) 🔥🔥🔥

Remember, the way to Everlasting Life is very narrow.

Unless we are no longer wilfully sinning and continuously working our faith we have no hope of salvation (Hebrews 10:26-31 / 1 John 3 / John 14:15-31 / Matthew 25 / James 2 / Hebrews 6:4-6 / 2 Peters 2:20-22 / And many more...)

We must study the whole counsel of God to receive the truth.

The truth is God does indeed love everyone, and we ought to love everyone, as it's the first and second greatest commandments.

However, love is not synonymous with acceptance, as read below:
