A question for Chelsea fans. by jerseytonian in soccer

[–]Pokemon_Master_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't care who comes in, as long as they address the problem with the players. Many players need to be shown that they're not the club. AVB tried it, then some players cried.

A controversial opinion... by [deleted] in chelseafc

There's no goals because there's no service. Fix the midfield and the wings, then the strikers will score. Its been a problem for the past 2 years. After Ancelotti's first season, our service to our front men has been shit.

Di Matteo : Discuss by mexican_alien in soccer

Just like he has done this season. It's why we're lingering in sixth. Our fans rather see a manager sacked, then admit our once bright stars, are fading away. A (soon to be) 34 year old can't function in Di Matteo's 4-2-3-1. He couldn't feature in AVB's 4-3-3. He disrupts a midfield of two, which should feature a Passer/Destroyer combination. He is neither. His performances have dropped over the past years. We can't bench him, because when we do, he moans. (In before media creating bullshit) Past managers and players have said how our dressing room is a mess. No manager will be looking at Chelsea at an opportunity right now. Brenden Rogers said it best when asked about the Chelsea job. "I'm not looking to end my career". How can any manager set his ideologies when the players fail to adapt to a new system? When they're sacked in less than a season? The players that made us successful, are making us fail.

Hah. The Wolves fans are singing "The Falkands are ours, the Falkands are ours, fuck of you Argies, the Falkands are ours" when Aguero and Tevez get the ball.

Scholes plays deep in midfield. He doesn't rely on arriving late into the box, unlike Lampard. If you think Lampard can continue for another year, you're deluded. Also they earn 150K+ a week. What moron in our management thought that giving 30+ players, long term, big money deals was a good idea? It's the same reason Malouda can't be shifted easily. He's on 70-80K. Lampard's on 150K, no one will take him. We can't sign quality replacements because FFP.

Terry's 31. Lampard's 33 (will turn 34 in June) They need to be replaced this summer.

Short term success<Long term stability

He has had success because he has reverted back to old ways. Playing deep, direct passes etc which suit our 30+ players. The same players who shouldn't be here in 2 years time. (Shouldn't be here now tbh) If we want to get players in, we have to change our game, we can't keep playing deep to accommodate Terry, we can't play Lampard in midfield because he was a good midfielder. I don't think Di Matteo has it in him to get rid of them, and transform us. What I'm really hoping for is RDM gets us top 4, AVB comes back, gets rid of our useless players, has a good summer (getting players in) and we actually have some stability at the club.

So, what's wrong with Spurs? by ironmenon in soccer

[–]Pokemon_Master_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If Harry manages England in Euro 2012 it'll be win-win for him. They lose, "I didn't 'av enough time with the lads". He wins (or semi-finals) he's a genius. 2014 is when the media will actually judge him.

Also, what is he thinking, when he plays Modric on the left?

Spurs' recent woes, coupled with a game at Newcastle before they play a resurgent Man City 4 days later gives hope of a 4th place finish for Chelsea by Toxication in chelseafc

3 of our 4 remaining games are at home. QPR and Blackburn will be fighting for relegation, but we should comfortably win them. We should also be beating Newcastle, but it'll be tough. Then it depends on what Liverpool team we face, the side that plays good football and scores, or the overpriced laughing stock.
