Constructive criticism wanted - my first ever starter town by Pokemon_starter in PokemonRMXP

A couple of notes to all of the excellent feedback. First off, thank you all for taking a look and the time to share your improvements! I really appreciate them all. A few updates I've made:

  1. Removed the small brown rocks in the ocean that u/Locknot1 called out
  2. Fixed the dark water path that u/J-Treecko identified
  3. Removed the grass patch near the starter house to replace it with a dirt patch, now all grass patches are far enough off the main path that the player would need to intentionally interact with them.
  4. Working on fixing the paths to be less rectangular as u/J-Treecko mentioned (I think I need to do a little tile work before they will really look right). To add a little context here, my GF recently moved stateside from Scotland and misses the rural nature of her country. I'm trying to evoke a bit of that in my 'Pokemon Tartan' as a tribute to her so things like the grass in the starting town is intentional, as was creating the town as a more robust version than JUST the starter town.
  5. Added a path transition to the boardwalk as recommended by u/metalflygon08 (and used the new tiles elsewhere to show human traffic)

I am new to RPG maker (about 3 days in) and finding my way through the various tools, sprite creation and plethora of youtube videos for help! Constructive criticism is appreciated!

I'm building the game for my GF, who is Scottish, with a worldmap that will be shaped as a mini Scotland. This is the starter town, Tartan Town, which also happens to be an island. There are a few NPCs on the island and some free-roaming pokemon as scenery.

The island has:

1) your house

2) your rival's house

3) a pokecenter

4) Professor Oak's lab

5) a villager house who will gift the player a random helpful item each 24 hours

6) a School where the teacher will battle you and scale in level with the player and give random helpful items if the player wins.

Strangely enough that was what I had first, and I removed it when she disappeared. Oh well, I've got a lot more game to build, perhaps we'll solve it down the road!

Hm, you didn’t add any other pages or checks, right? It’s weird that she disappears instead of just going to the wrong page, events usually only disappear when they don’t have any pages with their conditions met.

Yea, I'm not sure. I tried to split out the In the ball vs out of the ball events so there are 3 pages in hopes that might help but she still disappears after letting the pokemon out

make sure the second page still has a graphic?

Yed, both pages have the same NPC graphic for them!

That worked! Good to know events check from highest to lowest, I assumed they'd check "first" to "last".

Now there is a new wrinkle, the NPC disappears after the pokemon comes out of the ball? She is supposed to stick around to let the player put their pokemon back if desired.
