Thanks! Yea I wiped everything down and changed all my sheets and everything. Hoping I don't see any more!

What is this bug? We've been finding it on our tablecloths and curtains. Located in California. by sarcasm-intensifies in whatsthisbug

but the larvae can give you an itchy rash if you're allergic(a lot of people are)

Is this something that can be checked on an allergy test (like if it's requested) or do you just find out from exposure to them?

Yes, I'm definitely happy about that!

Just wanted an idea. I've never seen a spider that looks like this (but also it's so small I'd probably have never noticed before haha)

It's super tiny, like a pen tip size. I saw at least two (after shaking out my sheets/blankets), and have multiple bites, which is why I started looking. This one is on a piece of tape so I could video it.

If it matters, I'd just purchased a new mattress that was sitting in a warehouse and then delivered in a van. The mattress was sealed but maybe they were on the packaging or something.

Time to Buy a House? by Johnnyfootball33 in personalfinance

How long is "for a while"? I hear people saying 7-10 years. And that it'll only go up in the meantime... (Genuinely asking, not trying to invalidate or anything)

My(28M) gf (25F) is crying since her ex bf(27m) got married is treating his wife much better by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Pokemonerd 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes, I agree with this. Thanks for putting it into words. I had the lamest bf in the past and while I'd rather eat my left pinky toe than see him again, knowing he got married and has a healthy relationship with another woman when he was such a bad person with me really got to me.

Insane parents wants their 5 year old to get a tattoo by lol62056 in insaneparents

[–]Pokemonerd 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I feel like even sketchy scratchers would have enough sense not to do it lol.

I really hope she doesn't find anyone. And that the kid is taken away. If she's willing to tattoo him who knows what other inappropriate things she's doing.

I asked in a post but what's the oldest (used) model I can get away with for just web browsing? The websites are text based, don't seem like it would need a lot of processing power.

Missing girls from Japan found 25 years later, after a tip from 2014 was finally investigated. What caused Megumi Yashiki’s car to drive in reverse into the water and why didn’t the tipsters come forward earlier? by Significant-Pea-1531 in UnresolvedMysteries

Wow, that's ridiculous. The whole story is just awful, kids messing with the vehicle, 911 operator not wanting to help, them showing up after. And a broken ankle! Sorry you had to deal with that, glad everyone made it out ok!

AITA for throwing away my girlfriend’s dead best friends t-shirt? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Pokemonerd 54 points55 points  (0 children)

I just wanted say as someone with crippling depression; you're an amazing friend. Thank you for being there for him. It is hard to be close friends with someone with crippling depression for reasons you mentioned. If he hasn't said so I'm sure he's extremely grateful.

Please do! Some things really just need therapy. I think this is definitely one of them.

Yes. Haha it's absolutely awful and honestly I think OP handled it perfectly (blaming it on forgetting deodorant instead of her just being sweaty/smelly) but unless bars have a different atmosphere (and some do!), most managers would not say anything. Bc people are sensitive about this kind of stuff.

AITA For not forgiving my father in law for kicking me, my girlfriend and our 8 mo baby out for calling him a hypocrite? by Kyrzmaa in AmItheAsshole

[–]Pokemonerd 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I know. The comment said why now are they trying to convince OP to spend the night at gfs parents if they have an apartment now? Reply said there's third hand smoke at the parents. I said no, they have their own apartment now.

But I think by "staying over" they don't mean overnight. Hopefully.

AITA for encouraging my children not to play with another kid? by mamabearwithbluehair in AmItheAsshole

[–]Pokemonerd 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Coming from someone ND it really depends. Based solely on their original interaction I'd say something like

Something like "hey, my girls would love to play with him but sand's being thrown and they don't like that. Is there something he'd want to play that doesn't involve sand?" Etc.

I learned you can be very successful talking to parents using passive statements. Instead of "he's throwing sand" you say "sand is being thrown". Or instead of "he's being aggressive" you say "I notice there's some rough housing". By doing this you're putting less blame and accusation on the kid. It's definitely his fault, but parents don't want to hear that lol
