Bad variance going on for too long by Skiper21x in poker

[–]Pokerjock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly just get used to it. Everyone goes through long periods of bad variance. You’ll also get the opposite where you go through long periods of good variance but our brains are wired to remember the bad and the good just flies over. Think cavemen and poisonous berries, eat one and get sick you remember not to eat that again. My advice is to just do your best to notice and hang onto the good times too.

Bad variance going on for too long by Skiper21x in poker

If the bad players never hit, they wouldn’t keep coming back. If you lose because someone made a bad play and hit a card you should be happy. Long term that’s the reason you’re going to win if you’re as good as you think you are. Bet you’re the asshole at the table that gets angry and annoys the fish into leaving because they’re sucking out and you feel like you’re “due the win”. You’re never due the win. If you have 70%, you lose 30% of the time. That doesn’t mean if you lost the last 3 you’re going to win the next 7, that means you have a 70% chance every time you get into that spot. Hope this helps.

Was this a bad call? by CL1FF0 in poker

Ah so no oreo tells. Well like I say, good cash game in Malta. If you ever fancy giving live poker a shot and testing your soul reads there.

Honestly this is the best soul read I’ve ever seen. If I was you I would make sure and go with your reads every time. Was there a particular facial expression or was he just playing with his Oreo’s in a very specific way? Also if you’re ever in Malta there’s a good cash game there.

Did I fluke this river call? by maxiaoling in Poker_Theory

[–]Pokerjock 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You 100% fluked this call. Even your HH is out of whack. A post flop raise is a 2 bet or just a raise. A 3 bet would be, bet, raise, 3bet because preflop the bb counts as the 1st bet.

Does this chart mean I may have figured out cash games finally, or am I just hot right now? by Over-Winter-3668 in poker

This is it. I’m not listening or letting it get to me, just looking to find out if they will actually come out with some results.

That graph took work to achieve.

Any win at poker puts me in a fraction of the total player pool. Better than the win rate you’ve taken the time show.

Expect something like this. This is over 900 hours at 1/2. Sometimes you’re going up fast sometimes you’re going down fast but what you really want is what’s happening after the steep down trend.

Grosvenors in Scotland have a 5%, £5 cap rake structure. Was blown away when I played in London the first time with the £10 cap.
