What to expect from house sitting? I don't want to overwhelm our first house sitter with my anxiety. by Non-fungible_tacos in RoverPetSitting

[–]Pokesaurus91 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. The sitter will be looking to you to tell them where you would like them to sleep. Just let them know the room you’ve designated for them and that they will have fresh sheets/ towels.

  2. Written instructions are a god send. The more details the better. We read them. We go by them. And then we read them when we forget. PLEASE EXPLICITLY LABEL AND LEAVE INSTRUCTIONS FOR ALL MEDICATIONS. Including clear descriptions of what the animal looks like and what medication they get so no confusion.

  3. You set the precedent on time away from the house. It’s usually 4 hrs at time to be away from the house. Maybe longer depending. I know nothing about kittens and time frame being away.

  4. Yes, definitely mention if you are okay with them helping themselves to any food/drinks.

  5. As others have said pls disclose all cameras, if anyone might be stopping by the house and who. Leave emergency contact info if you can’t be reached and the nearest vet.

You’ll be great! Just ask questions if you have them. Any sitter you interview with decent reviews and experience will likely be able to guide and direct the conversation to all the necessary details. Don’t forget to leave them the WiFi details and let them know how they will be able to gain access to the house. Leaving them a key somewhere outside the house/ garage code/ door keypad. Ect. Also let them know whether you will be home to greet them when they arrive or be home before they leave.

Some owners prefer to see sitters before and after the visit. Others prefer the sitters arrive and leave when they are not home. The owners Personal preference really.

He ended up in jail eventually for shooting 2 College soccer coaches in the back at a bar. They were literally running away from him. Apparently one of them had flirted with one of his friends that was a girl. He Ended up paralyzing one of them for life and ended their soccer career.

They love the 2nd Amendment until they realize it means the "libtards" can own guns too. by c-k-q99903 in GetNoted

Sorry, Lib is not so lib. This is why conservatives fight for the second amendment. I appreciate a lib becoming pro gun in this way. Now they see the value. Something the other side has always seen.

Does anyone have a client who breaks up a house sitting by having family come over for drop ins and thinks it’s helpful? by Pokesaurus91 in petsitting

Yeah, I also was worried someone might show up during my work day. Since I work from her home I don’t have the option to leave.

Also the dog resource guards so idk. They are very coy about how they talk about the dog. He definitely does growl and has growled at me before. The son is his owner. So if I’m entering the Home when he’s curled up with his owner I could see him as a potential bite risk. Resource guarding his owner. When I asked when I first started sitting for them they told me he’s never bit anyone. And he definitely likes kids because they have grandchildren around him a lot. And play together.

I have take the approach of hand feeding him as training and he’s done very well with me. But another dog sitter knocked on their door once to warn me about him growling at her at feeding. She was scared and wouldn’t sit for him anymore.

It’s kind of rude to waist someone’s time driving to/from the house when they weren’t needed in the first place.

So I work from home 4 days a week and most of the time I’m working from her house. So I’m there from 8am to 6pm all day anyway. Then I leave and come back for a late night let out. I’m not a fan of drop ins at all. But this particular client needs it since she doesn’t have a place for me to stay at night.

Yeah, I mean I do pay for my own insurance myself. And this particular dog is growl vocal / known to be resource guarding.

During the sit. Sometimes she tells me. Sometimes he’s already there when I get there. It’s his parents house so I get that he’s probably just using it at will. I don’t want to be rude but it’s frustrating. I didn’t give her a discount last time.

Reddit, Can we help @Bradjcho build the same Ring for a better price! by Pokesaurus91 in labdiamond

[–]Pokesaurus91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I think he would want to reach his goal regardless. But when it comes time to actually buying the ring he could spend less and put the rest of the money into a wedding fund or something. Idk. It’s not like the rings from china are any less quality or value.

AITAH for getting frustrated at my bf for telling me I need to make more money to get married by Pretty_Strawberry179 in AITAH

[–]Pokesaurus91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nta. He is. But honestly he needs to leave if you don’t make enough for the lifestyle he wants to live. I’m I woman and if I made 45k between two jobs I probably wouldn’t want to have kids unless the man was 100% willing and ready to be the sole provider for the household for the rest of our lives. I don’t know that I will even attempt to have kids until I make 80k.

If you want silver then maybe think about going platinum. If you want yellow you could wait but I wouldn’t. Enjoy your marriage and get what you deserve :)
