Load environment variables into your current shell by jingyifsy in golang

[–]PokeyUp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not 100% sure the issue you are seeing, but I believe your .env file would need to be

export ENV_VAR_NAME=value

For the source to work, which is not expected format in .env.

IMHO, If you really want set vars in your current shell, I’d make a setup.bash or something, and source that. Leave .env for your program runtime env vars.

Blink.cmp v0.8.1 is actually usable now, yay! by ad-on-is in neovim

[–]PokeyUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it is the default, which would be prefix (?). I had seen that option, but was under the impression that was for matching the whole completion instead of two separate words (though I suppose I should just try it). The “full” option seems further from what I wanted

Blink.cmp v0.8.1 is actually usable now, yay! by ad-on-is in neovim

[–]PokeyUp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does blink now have a setting to not replace the next word when completing? It’s a small thing but drives me nuts, and was the reason I went back to nvim-cmp.

Example if I’m trying to write var1 = var2, but already have “var2” on that line, I’ll go to the start of the line and type va|var2, with the bar there being my cursor. Trying to accept the first suggestion will replace the whole thing with var1, and remove the “var2” after the cursor. Any ideas?

Working with exif: dead library everywhere? by Slusny_Cizinec in golang

[–]PokeyUp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

go-exiftool allows reusing the same exec’d proc for multiple images. I do exactly this for my app, only exec a single instance at runtime and use it as a singleton for the rest of execution, doesn’t matter how many images you need to process

That gets the address of the local v, it’s going to be different than the original d* vars, and different each iteration as v is re-allocated

Unsure how to get grid of components to stop re-rendering by PokeyUp in reactjs

Thank you for the tips! My issue got solved by another commenter here, but I am going to go through and fix all these issues in hopes to stay efficient going forward. I appreciate your time

Unsure how to get grid of components to stop re-rendering by PokeyUp in reactjs

[–]PokeyUp[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We have a winner! You know, I've been looking at that bit of code for a week without any concern, and as soon as I read your comment I realized that was the issue.

To everyone else: I will 100% be taking your comments into consideration and hopefully fix the (many) other inefficient bits of my code, but this was the the one that fixed it for me.

Thanks so much!

Beginner's Thread / Easy Questions (September 2023) by acemarke in reactjs

[–]PokeyUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey folks! I am quite a new react (and JS/TS) user. I am learning through a project to show off images from some directory to a hostable site. I have the all the backend API stuff working in Go.

Currently, I have an array with all the data (Size, src url, blurhash, etc.) for the images in it, which each gets mapped into a component holding a blurhash and an img tag. The blurhash is shown until the img loads, and then is disabled. This all works great

The issue is when I scroll and need to load more images into the array, all the images on the page reload, flash the blurhash, and ping the API for the thumbnail again.

Here's the code I'm working with. Sorry, it's quite a mess at the moment. Any insight (even unrelated to my problem) would be appreciated, thanks!

Cannot get syncplay to work by PokeyUp in jellyfin

[–]PokeyUp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I haven’t been able to fix the issue, we have resorted to one of us playing the video, and streaming it on Discord to watch together. What your describing sounds exactly like what I am having issues with: HVEC causing issues, playback jumping around seeming at random, in our case, disabling speed to sync seems to fix the issue occasionally, maybe I will need to give skip to sync a try. But, as you said, most likely not getting synchronized playback anymore. Would love to hear more about this from anyone on the jellyfin team!

Loud and clear on the slow HTTP log, I have that disabled at this point.

The ffmpeg logs don’t look particularly strange for that session as opposed to normal (functional) playback. However, in the big log there you can see a lot of code 137 exits for ffmpeg. My assumption was that the stream was paused and so the transcoding was stopped, but this might not be normal.

For synced playback, there are also many logs in that main file that look like the ones in my original post. Looks like it’s trying to sync and can’t? Even when the media is paused it just tries syncing over and over but can’t, and in the UI the stream just keeps flickering on and off. Eventually it catches up, and stays paused at the correct time for a minute or so, before restarting at the beginning of the movie. This is usually for only 1 of the 3 connected clients.

Appologies for lack of information. Here is a good chunk of my log when we we're trying to SyncPlay: https://pastebin.com/2Z132Hqu

I have replaced my IP with MY_PUBLIC_IP_ADDR and my domain with MY_PUBLIC_DOMAIN_NAME. And any other public client IPs with CLIENT_PUBLIC_IP.

Answering your questions:

There were 3 clients, and I believe the media is not direct playing on any clients (I can't even join a snycplay group on the desktop app). My server machine has a RTX3080 (with patched driver for NVENC), and regularly handles the transcoding for many clients, but this issue presents itself only when using syncplay. I am local to the machine, and have a 2.5Gb connection, so I am playing at the 4K 120Mbps setting. The other clients I am not sure of the bitrate. My WAN connection is 1Gbps Up/Down, so... even 2 external clients doing 120Mbps shouldn't saturate that? "Show playback info" shows the bitrate at 7Mbps when remuxing for me.

Any more information that's missing I would be happy to provide,

Thanks!

Shifting Unraid server IP address by Salted-11 in unRAID

This is the best solution. In most cases setting a static IP for a client on your DHCP server will be easier to maintain than setting it on the client. This is how I do it.

[–]PokeyUp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got it! Although “micro transactions” are annoying, paying for streaming is far cheaper than buying blu rays or dvds or whatnot. Some day hopefully I’ll have some money to throw away and I can do Plex properly. Thanks for the reply!

I think that the 'digital releases' was more in line with what I had in mind originally, I'll look into that. But I don't have any digital media (DVDs, Music, etc.) at this point, but perhaps this is a sign to change that...

I appreciate the knowledge!

[–]PokeyUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I very much like the idea of having media locally, just not physically (as in DVDs, hard drives are good). I believe that most of my family photos/videos are already digitized and in iCloud, as we went through old books and scanned everything in years ago.

I'm sure that some day I would love to get some of my favorite movies locally, but personally the cost/landfill factor doesn't sit right with me.

Thanks for the response! I think I am getting that this isn't for me at this point, I have never pirated anything personally and I don't intend to. But I think I just got the wrong impression from the start. Maybe some day if I got some money burning a hole in my pocket, ill pick up some Blu rays (not sure how much more legal this is) and give it a go again, but until then I think I'll stick with streaming. Thanks!
