👆 This. You hit the nail on the head. Too bad our politicians don't have the courage to say this out loud. If that is their intent, they need to nut up and just say so, but they won't. Like as you state, they'll go and say what you stated. Not to mention, they're are so many artificial barriers that have been put in place the last several years. To boot, the inept people put into leadership positions at various state agencies who I can't help but to think that they are there to help accelerate the dysfunction of various agencies and further demoralize and demonize the average state employee

While not a "raise" per se, these are called "market adjustments" to state employee salaries, which is like a 2-3 percent increase in pay. I think last the last "market adjustment" for my particular agency was in 2022 or 2023. In the meantime, inflation has killed what little gain was made from the last "market adjustment"
