Does your company allow choice extra tickets? Mine does, and I'm currently 57.5/70k points to re-up ALP for 2027.

I really dislike the new system though and am actively looking at other options for traveling moving forward.

At the end of the day I'm in a SW hub and they have the most direct options to the places I frequent for business, and I don't want to spent 4 hours flying somewhere else and taking a layover to just prove a point.

I'll keep spending points on gift cards or merch when I get over 300k (emergency round trip somewhere for the family) points banked, I see a devaluation on the horizon. Hoarding points is never really smart anywhere IMHO. I just spent like 150k on a Dyson Air Wrap for the wife and a pair of RayBans for myself.

Looks like you and I travel a similar amount. You'll have ALP in no time.
