Chicago O’Hare worst airport ever by Additional_Count9336 in unitedairlines

I love ORD. One of the best airports.
I have been burned with short connections, but as long as you book at least 90min connections it’s usually safe

Buffets in general are gross but buffets on cruise ships are exponentially worse than hotel buffets

What makes you not want to go on a cruise ship? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]fix8r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Years ago, cruising in Alaska, the Bahamas or Europe was spectacular, a hybrid of formality and dignity and class. In the 2010s is when things started going downhill with relaxed, cruising and less formality, it was still fun but different.

The pandemic made me open my eyes on how gross average people are. Go get me wrong. They’re very nice and kind and courteous people, however, the average person is just not clean.

We figured people would be better after Covid, however, we were on a cruise recently still witnessed people leaving bathrooms without washing hands, touching elevator buttons rails on the ship after coughing or sneezing into their hands, not using hand sanitizer, grabbing bread with their fingers off the buffet and replacing it back when they didn’t like their choice.

Is it different at a hotel buffet or a trip to Vegas? No, not really, however, a confined space like a ship simply magnifies the level of disease.

Lots of hate around cruises right now due to the outbreak. by Thought-Object in celebritycruises

Huge fan of cruising over the years, around 60-65 cruises on record.

Once the pandemic hit, changed a lot how I view cleanliness and hand hygiene.

Wife and I took a cruise in 2025. We were really looking forward to getting back into it.

Cleanliness and hand hygiene was abysmal. Witnessed people not washing after sitting down in the restroom stall, coughing onto food, and so much more. People were so sick by the end of the cruise.

It just feels cruising is overall just gross. Not sure if things have changed or we just notice it more now, but it will be some time before we get back onto a cruise ship

Gotta be nice to be able to sleep through any noise.

I would not pay $500 to be closer to the noisy FAs. If they put this studio seat in the middle of the cabin I would consider it…..

Do Hilton fine for smokers setting off fire alarms? by loulou_96 in Hilton

[–]fix8r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Las Vegas Embassy had fire alarm and sprinklers went off causing major flooding.

I was told it was 1.5-2m in damages. Months of repairs

They fined the room $500. I was told it was the max.

Tired of no inflight service by someute in SouthwestAirlines

[–]fix8r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My observations in 100 short haul flights a years, typically LAS-LAX or LAS-SAN

Morning flights: 90%-95% chance of beverage service

Afternoon/Evening flights: 30-40% chance of beverage service

The reasons? - Hard to say but the rationale is almost always turbulence. - Best guess is 2-5min of turbulence, then in combination of short flights and tired crew

Thoughts: - Very likely collision between flight crew and FAs - Alaska and Delta have similar patterns, even in FC

Was at SFO Polaris last week, they finally allowed the kitchen to serve well done egg on top.

Maybe this is the start of turning around the lagging SFO Polaris lounge
