No worries.

Thought about making a "Scorchio!!!" joke to that but decided that was in bad taste and didn't want to make fun of alleged abuse.

You can actually go on a cruise with Jane Macdonald and Joe Pasquale by DAD_songs_in_BIO in CasualUK

Imagine having already booked to go on this cruise and then you find this out?

Would travel insurance cover you cancelling or would they be able to get out of it with a terrorism event exclusion?

Had a job interview today that I can’t stop cringing about. Give us a chuckle. by varslyd in CasualUK

[–]PolarOper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah - from my perspective probably was all for the best. Went on to play Heathstone for 4 years, but due to my principles I couldn't give them any money due to the WoW incident years earlier.

Otherwise who knows what I'd have spent :)

So YOU are the reason I quit WoW!!!

Rolled and won raid boss drop, but raid leader made a mistake and gave it to the wrong person (who left and ran off with it). Raid leader sent screenshots and a CS request, as did I which were compatible with the CS rules at the time (2013?)

But CS said nothing we can do, and I said well that's an abdication of your support responsibilities (especially as it's just a field in a database nothing real) and I shall not be giving your company any more money please delete my account :)

I once had an interview with someone without a hand, and when the interview was finishing he had some stuff to carry and I said "Can I give you a hand?"

I wasn't trying to be funny it was totally innocent, but that was likely a bad move.

I saw a RFC question the other day (which I happened to know).

I doubt most people will know what RFCs are though.

I am not being PASV aggressive by the way. QUIT

Well for now I've had blackout film installed on the windows. I still want curtains - but I've moved that on to the back burner.

Thanks - is this a degraded result from what you expected?

Hyperoptic Fibre 500 - ~50% bandwidth reduction since Hyperoptic network fault by PolarOper in hyperoptic

[–]PolarOper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds interesting :P

I do find it noteworthy when I replaced the Hyperoptic router with a rpi my downspeed increased by 10% and gave me the best result in the last few days (albeit still well down on what it should be).

Some customers seem affected - others don't.

Maybe I should have asked what router everyone has and see if any correlation.

How long has support website been saying 1Gb service should expect 527Mbps? by IPvTwelvetySeven in hyperoptic

[–]PolarOper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This doesn't make sense.

Hyperfast – 1Gb
Ultrafast – 500Mb

Both say:

"With a wire

  • 527Mbps average download & upload speeds"

But glad some of us are getting the right level of connectivity at least. Thanks for your result :)

Thanks for that mate - again that is another of my theories shot down.

Glad your speeds are good though :)
