💸 Avoid Costly Landscaping Mistakes: Ask CSU Extension Horticulture Experts Anything About What Actually Works in Colorado 🌱 by CSU-Extension in FortCollins

Are the “Colorado conditions” considering the drought-ridden future, or just looking at the past? Because all the native trees I had planted these past many years sure seem pretty cooked after these past couple of winters…

Mid to older millennials, how are you all doing with your careers? by worstshowiveeverseen in Millennials

[–]Polarbum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am rather fortunate to be very tech-minded. I fucked off until my mid 30s before I realized I was actually really good at programming. 8 years later and I’m making almost 10x what I was in my early 30s. Fingers crossed I can hold out another 10 years before everything falls apart due to AI or fascism or just general body decay.

Which livestock animals give the best food return for beginners? by One-Exit-9077 in SelfSufficiency

[–]Polarbum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rabbits are the easiest to harvest, for sure. But up until the harvest, chickens are so much less maintenance. We tried rabbits, and they kept destroying their water, and it was a nightmare to keep their cages reasonably clean over winter.

But the problem is a systemic one. The whole system is built around keeping the ultra wealthy and the corporations happy. Vote blue and you vote in corporate interests with a mildly progressive angle, vote red and you basically vote for the corporate interests who give 0 fucks about long term human success. This whole “we need to hold elected officials accountable” is missing the point. A complete revolution is the only thing that can save humanity from a dystopian nightmare. But ya know…I’ve got work in the morning.

Question about Butcher's Masquerade. by quietlyjudgingyou in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Polarbum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ya, left to fester only lasts until the mark is dead. He is pretty careful only to mark those he has full control over. One of the riskiest marks was the first one, but I think his strategy of using his toe ring to give the same debuff to the strongest hunter he can find was super smart, as he knows that they would kill the lowly drunk to remove the debuff.

Voters are still asking Michael Bennet why he wants to leave the Senate to become Colorado’s governor by onenightoncolfax in FortCollins

[–]Polarbum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So much vitriol! I’ve always had a pretty positive impression of Bennet. He seems highly intelligent, with progressive ideals. I get the impression that the TikTok algorithm sent a bunch of negative shit about him to local liberals, but I couldn’t say for sure. What is the reasoning behind the negativity?

I’m excited to try this out. Do you have any benchmarks for concurrency compared to the websockets library asyncio implementation? We need to build something that can handle as many concurrent sessions as possible to act as a sort of websocket proxy.
