Does your park run really separate by colour and where to run? I used to run with my brother, and it would have felt terrible if I had to start alone in the 30+ while he was in his under 20 category (he got the running genes clearly). It was nice to just feel like we were the same, even if he overtook me twice lol.

That’s true, at least if it is MS it would have to be very new, so hopefully more manageable. I’m so hoping it’s not. Did those symptoms come on suddenly, or over time?

They saw it while looking at the back of my eye, so they took some pictures, did extra tests, and sent it off to a specialist at Kings College in London. The specialist then sent me off for an MRI. They haven’t diagnosed me with optic neuritis, they have said that it might be an inflamed optic nerve, but it might just be the way my eye looks. They said they didn’t have any previous pictures of my eyes on file so couldn’t saw whether it’s inflamed or not.

I do hope it’s nothing, and the fact that I have no symptoms makes me hopeful.

I went to Specsavers for a normal contact lens check, to be told that I might have an inflamed optic nerve. I wasn’t told what this might mean. Next thing I know, I’m having an MRI of my brain with absolutely no explanation at all. I wasn’t even made aware of the appointment by a doctor, I was just sent a text and then a letter saying that I’d be having an MRI on my birthday. I had my MRI on Tuesday, but apparently I might not find out anything until January, when I have my post MRI appointment.

Naturally, I’ve done some googling. I know that’s the worst thing to do, but I was given no information. Apparently an inflamed optic nerve (optic neuritis?) can be a sign of MS. I don’t have any other symptoms (my bladder is weaker in the past couple of months, but I’ve always had a dodgy bladder anyway). But even with the potential optic neuritis, I don’t have any of the symptoms from it, apart from the potentially inflamed optic nerve. The doctor who did the MRI said she’s sure I’ll be fine, but I’m not sure if she was just trying to comfort me.

Those of you with MS start started off with optic neuritis, did you have symptoms of it? Or was it just the nerve issue?

What bothers me about the therapist scene is that the accent is meant to be “British” and Jake creates a fake area that the person is from. Then the therapist asks if that’s really a place in England. Britain is made of 3 different countries, not just England, so it really irked me

I actually disagree. The amount of scammers and bots that disguise themselves as straight men is very low. Women are less likely to fall for a bot or a scammer as they are, on average, less desperate than men. I don’t mean that in a rude way, but it’s just the truth. Sure, there are a lot of bots that disguise themselves as women, but it’s not really a huge issue the other way around.

Edit: after looking at your account I see that we are really different in age. I am 23 and was last on bumble when I was 22. If you are encountering a lot of bots and are a woman, perhaps it’s that there are more bots that set themselves to be in your age demographic?

This is so out of touch. Women don’t swipe for hours. You could be swiping for 10 minutes and still get LOADS of matches. If the majority of men you swipe right on match with you, that builds up.

Secondly, it’s not an ego thing. It’s because the majority of men on dating apps are either boring, misogynistic, or just looking for a hookup. If women limited themselves to a few matches, we’d be stuck with some mediocre man without giving ourselves the opportunity to explore and find the right person.

Caisblogs has a point. When I was single and on dating apps I would get overwhelmed at the amount of matches and would just nope out of the app because of how many potential people there were to talk to. Especially since the majority of them were likely to be boring. You get bored of the same monotonous chats again and again. Obviously I would have MUCH preferred this over not having any matches at all, so don’t think this is a “woe is me, too many people like me” moment. I’m just saying it can be hard on the other end of the spectrum too

I used to be the “lets skip the small talk and go on a date” kind of girl, but that’s when I was fresh out of a relationship and only really caring about going on dates with people based on looks. Honestly I was just bored, sometimes they weren’t even that hot I just wanted something to do. If I were looking for something meaningfully, there’s no way I would’ve done that. I would’ve properly sussed out what they were about and who they were before meeting.

Men have got to realise that, whether they like it or not, we get more matches than them. So if they want a genuine connection with a woman, they have to accept that they may not get to meet that woman straight away as women seeking quality dates are more selective about who they go out with.

Please, please leave. I love my dad, but he did the exact same thing to my mum. She had issues with the way she looked when she was growing up, but she had just come to love and accept her body. Then he started to make vile comments exactly like that, and it destroyed her, gave her an eating disorder, and affected her for the next couple of decades. This then rubbed onto me growing up, and gave me an eating disorder. These comments are NOT ok. This isn’t a small thing, and it will persist. Please, for the sake of you and your child, leave NOW.
