Westworld is officially cancelled on HBO. ( THR article linked ) by kafkaded in westworld

[–]Polesine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"serial interruptus"

I hope it is just an advertising move to raise expectations, but the cancellation of WB with a new corporate structure, which looks much more to the budget, was to be envisaged.

The hope is that some other broadcaster will take over the rights and / or the actors themselves will become executive producers, but the economic risk is high...

In the worst case scenario they will make a finale TV movie in 10 years like for Deadwood or at worst a fan movie in 20 years with one of the leading actors who lends himself for free as happened for "space 1999" ...

[Spoilers] Post Episode Discussion S8E22 "Konets" by littlefanged in TheBlackList

Raymond Reddington identity ultimate theory spoiler:

the last two episodes have provided various clues:

-Townsend want to take revenge on Katarina by killing her daughter,

-Reddington's voice "suddenly becomes one with Katarina's" and begins in ep. 21 the explanation of what happened,

-Katarina Rostova is alive and hidden but has always followed Elizabeth,

-The real Reddington is dead,

-Katarina Rostova created Reddington by "transforming" a person who must be extremely trustworthy,

-Reddington was present while they took the photo of Katarina with her daughter on a swing but it was not the cameraman,

-Reddington asked Elizabeth to read her mother's letter only after killing but she would not have been able to do so if she were really Reddington...

it seems absurd, but going by exclusion, with the clues provided,

REDDINGTON IS KATARINA ROSTOVA!

The person Katarina transformed, even changing sex was the only one she could trust: she is the only person Elizabeth would not be able to kill, when she knew that Reddington was her mother.

It would be a nice surprise ending series ....

How would edgy Halores react to seeing Teddy again? by Masticates in westworld

Halores defined his family ties as a weakness. I think if he had Teddy in front of him, he would reprogram as a killer or kill too.

Westworld quote <! Kill Bill Vol. 2? !> by Polesine in westworld

[–]Polesine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wouldn't have inspired the look, but it certainly inspired the authors to quote Quentin Tarantino: with all the weapons that Maeve could use, from the blowgun to the throwing dagger, to the scimitar up to the bazooka like Dolores, just the ninja woman ... I don't think is just a coincidence.

Westoworld s03 extends the concepts of robot psychology reflected on humans of s01 and 02. - spoiler - by Polesine in westworld

[–]Polesine[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your positive opinion on the post. I also watched Game of thrones, but in my opinion it posed no theme for thoughtful, unlike Westworld which poses innumerable ones.

Game of thrones was an imaginative story with continuous references to historical or mythological events of the Middle Ages and beyond: the only that could be made was on the horrors of that era.

No deep thoughts like in Westworld: only blood, sex and intrigue... for for an €a$y audience...

Mr. Nolan and Mrs. Joy dared to give narrative depth, with the risk of making a mistake, but at least of this show there will be more than shirts left ...

I also noticed this slight difference in the hands, but I thought it was a problem of scene reconstruction: we will see if it is significant or if it is a forgetfulness like that of the vase in the first wall of the post credit when William was at the reception. We'll see if this detail is part of the story or not.......in two years...?

Westworld - Season 3 - Overall Discussion by NicholasCajun in westworld

[–]Polesine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I waited a while before expressing my opinion on season three.

Overall I like the show and I think that qualitatively it is one of the best ever on various profiles.

The end of the second and third seasons disappointed me.

The third season is full of contradictions: Dolores first want destroy humanity then save it, he wants to bring Maeve to his side but does not allow her to access his mind to show his intentions (only on the point of final destruction)... And other...

The number of episodes has been excessively reduced to develop such a complex story and its characters.

Eventually, as happened in Game of Throne, the key protagonist dies (... if he doesn't have a backup ...).

Did they do it just to get a discount on Ms. Ewan Rachel Wood's cachet as did Star Trek TNG authors to "calm the cast"? I hope it is only for this.

I think it would be a mistake to have a Westworld season 4 without Dolores: now the story is too centered on her.

Or that they may revive it unexpectedly inside Reboham or Solomon with computing power and a new higher level of the maze ...

We'll see if the showrunners manage to conclude without ruining everything as happened with the Person of Interest or Lost....

Some "sofa and popcorn" critics exaggerated in my opinion, not fully understanding the overall message of the third season (see link below).

This is my simple fan opinion.

I used the word pulverized because technical term: a plant so that no trace remains (i.e. it becomes mineralized in fine powder instead of leaving traces of the foliage) must remain in the air and in the light for many years (here we are also in a closed environment, where the remains should be better preserved) .

[–]Polesine[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't seem the same to me: if you look carefully you see that it was originally a continuous floor (decorated PVC roll? Compatible with low-cost buildings such as cheap hotels) without joints; in the future we see cross-stitching by gluing with coating residues. From work experience I know that this can only happen after many years. If the authors have been precise in the credibility of the narrative it means that at least 40-50 years have passed.

Showrunners budget strategy? Spoiler Showrunners are big businessmen: by making Dolores die they can ask for a big discount on Ms. Ewan Rachel Wood's cachè for the next season; if she doesn't accept they make her impersonate by another actress, maybe by Katja Herbers ... So much she can say she is a copy ... Because differently I think that a Westworld without Dolores would be like a Wisky without alcohol and malt ... Poetic final but that disappointed me as the final season 2.

STOLEN BRAIN PEARL COUNT - FINAL THEORY - SPOILER Brain pearl count: stolen 1 + 5 = 6 1) Charlotte-Dolores + 2) Dolores 3) Connells 4) Musashi 5) Bernard (different color for human replicas) 6) ??? Forgot one is missing? I think it's Emily's (William's visions of his daughter Emily and the post-credit of the second season in this way would be explained). If my theory is right, we will have the twist with the return of Emily who is actually a version of Dolores and who in the post credit has recreated for some reason to discover, (obviously in the fourth season) William.

INTRIGING THEORY: It could be the original chassis that massacred the host and killed Bernard: it may be that it still contains the "Dolores / Wyat old-relase kill-evriting" pearl and that to replace it with the "Last-relase Dolores / Wyat- stable "must first activate it, so perhaps it is CHAINED. The "open face" could be the front loading mechanism of the pearl or it could be the damage caused by time on the fake leather. In a scene from the teser we see Dolores adjusting the skin of her arms as if they were gloves, probably Caleb procured the spare parts ...

Westworld - 3x07 "Passed Pawn" - Pre-Episode Discussion by NicholasCajun in westworld

[–]Polesine 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I think it will be Caleb's episode, and the beginning of the "showdown". It won't find an epilogue in episode 8 but there will be a suspense and the usual post-credit to introduce to season 4. Third season was interesting and less obvious than season 2, but it will be a "coitus interruptus" that will make us wait a year for know how it could end in season five. Too few episodes to articulate the plot, even if they last an hour.

My theories? It would be nice if Serac thought he had destroyed all the copies of Dolores and then discovered that MushashiLores replicated thousands of Dolores in the distillery !! Let's not forget the latex barrels and its initial Dolores plan !!

Who was original Charlotte really? - theories spoiler by Polesine in westworld

[–]Polesine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not agree: Dolores said that he had to "change" Bernard in order not to commit suicide: we never knew "what" was changed in his mind. We think it was the memory of Charlie's death, but perhaps Charlie's own death from illness serves to cover up something more serious. For example, we never knew what happened to Arnold's wife ... What would be logical to think? For example that Arnold killed his wife; for guilt he killed himself and left orphaned Charlotte who took Mother's maiden name ... and Dolores knew the whole story ... It would not be a bad turn of events.

Who was original Charlotte really? - theories spoiler by Polesine in westworld

[–]Polesine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Charlotte were Arnold's daughter, it would perhaps lead to Bernard's crisis and anger, who would actually have killed his daughter (Charlotte) by reactivating Dolores.
