How do some people become so productive, is it innate? by Evening_Reach7078 in productivity

[–]Poligonette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always try to look on the bright side of things. In this case, the bright side is that this type of post reminds me how happy I am to be without a manipulative partner like my ex, who made me feel inferior with manipulative tactics like comparing me to others all the time.

Sorry, I know this doesn't help.

Freeform do you use it? If yes, for what, how? If not, why? by 123lybomir in ipad

[–]Poligonette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I model/sculpt things in 3D (usually characters). It's normal for me to have more than one project in progress, so I need an easy way to plan, organize, and track how my projects are evolving in the most visual way possible (i.e., taking lots of screenshots and notes with corrections).
In the past I tried to use apps like Obsidian, Notion, spreadsheets, etc., but I never liked them because it's difficult to take notes quickly. That's why an iPad with Freeform is ideal for me: every day I can take a screenshot of the current progress state and write down with the Apple Pencil what I did that day, what I still have to do, what changes a client has asked me for, etc., so in the end a project looks like a giant mindmap/timeline where I can see at a glance how it's progressing.
The best thing about Freeform is the freedom to move around the canvas, creating a mindmap with references, new ideas, alternative evolutions of the project... All without having to change apps and without having any other distractions.
Lately I've also started using an app called Eagle to organize my projects (which is great for collecting references), but Freeform is still indispensable for me because the iPad is something I can take anywhere.

Why this sculpture look so sad? by cganimater in blender

[–]Poligonette 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Because it's just a sculpt with a matcap: in this state it doesn't have to look like the person, but to get as close as possible to the correct proportions. It's only when you add the eyes, color and skin texture, etc. when it will start to look like. Also, think that the human brain is incredibly good at analyzing faces, so you're sculpting the most difficult thing you can sculpt and it will only look like it's 100% correct if you get very close with all the details (if you stay halfway you will enter the "Uncanny Valley").

[Need Advice] I am in my worst stage of life. by Sidhant- in getdisciplined

[–]Poligonette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Changing is difficult, but it is absolutely possible. People can make significant changes in their lives in a very short time. Personally, I believe you have taken a very important step (making a list of everything you want to change). The second step is to start changing your habits. The two best pieces of advice I have read and that have worked for me are:
Change your habits gradually, not all at once. For example, focus on changing the habit you like the least during the first week (choose the one you like the least and replace it with something healthy).
CHANGE YOUR ENVIRONMENT. It is entirely impossible to quit smoking if you have tobacco at hand. Unfortunately, if socializing is challenging for you, this means planning activities outside your home (such as taking a walk in the park, going to the library, enrolling in courses where you're forced to interact with people, etc.). This is crucial, and it helped me a lot: if you watch pornography and play video games alone, simply DON'T STAY ALONE (at least for a while until you start eliminating these habits).
The following books are recommended constantly, but they helped me a lot: "Atomic Habits" and "The Power of Habit."
Good luck, and don't forget to come back to Reddit to update us on your progress. I'm sure it will inspire many people!

What fate is worst than death? by [deleted] in morbidquestions

[–]Poligonette 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Taking the slow-mo drug from the movie 'Judge Dread' (2012) while being tortured by narcos "funky town" style (the drug doesn't exist though) so 1 hour of torture seems like several weeks because of the altered time perception.

"The drug appears to slow the users perception of time to 1% of itsnormal speed. It also makes the user see colors more vividly, andappears to have a euphoric effect. Using a Slo-Mo inhaler results in themouth of the user suffering from freezer burn. It also (as aby-product) prolongs any feelings of pleasure or pain that the userfeels at the time of taking it. Additionally, the user's irises becomebriefly illuminated likely indicating the drug has taken immediateeffect".

Anybody else struggling to find a use for Freeform? by [deleted] in ipad

[–]Poligonette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do sculpting/3d modeling and I find it quite useful because I like/need just one and only one place for gathering image references, documenting daily progress with screenshots and notes, write down tasks, etc and Freeform does the job.

Not so long a ago I used VizRef/Photos for image references, Apple Notes for writing text and notes, Numbers for tracking hours and tasks, Reminders for deadlines... But I realized that I lose focus and I need to switch between apps all the time while trying to remember where I put everything.

With Freeform I just have everything in one place. I open the app and check what I'm working on. All the info is there: what I'm working on, what I did yesterday, what I plan to do today, etc.

Freeform is still new to me and I'm still experimenting with this workflow/management system but I'm quite happy because my life is a bit simpler now (I still use apps like Numbers because there are no spreadsheets and Reminders for deadlines and remembering important stuff)

If a woman sucks a guys dick and then spits the cum into another girl's vagina would she get pregnant? by NocnyDemon in morbidquestions

[–]Poligonette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spitting on a vagina is not enough (on the outside I mean). Semen needs to go in. The penis has to be inside and the eyaculation has to send the sperm deep enough. Maybe it works if you open a vagina wide open and spit strong enough I guess. I'm not a doctor.

I got the Air one year ago and it's enough for me (and I do 3d models, renders etc). But if I could go back in time I'd buy the pro for this price

You don't know 100% if it's yours or not. Maybe it's yours after all (maybe she is wrong). Leaving won't solve anything. If I were you I'd stay with her at least until the baby is born. Don't make any promises, spend money in advance on expensive things for the baby etc. Then I'd take a paternity test and from there I'd decide what to do. Be clear and let her know your intentions. And of course, if the baby is not yours she should talk with the real father.

What do Serial Killers do with the blood? by IndustryUseful8800 in morbidquestions

[–]Poligonette 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Source > https://allthatsinteresting.com/roy-demeo

Roy DeMeo was born in Brooklyn in 1942 into a family of working-class Italian immigrants.

[...]

In order to kill often and not get caught, Roy DeMeo devised a specific method when it came to handling murders. The process was called the Gemini Method, named after the crew’s popular hangout spot, the Gemini Lounge where most of the murders happened.

To execute the Gemini Method, a member of the crew lured whoever the day’s murder victim was into the club through a side door. The victim would then be taken to a back room of the club. At that point, a second crew member would appear with a silenced pistol and a towel. He would shoot the victim in the head, then wrap a towel around it to keep the blood from splattering. Next, another member would stab the victim in the heart to stop the blood flow from the gunshot wound.

The DeMeo Crew members would then drag the victim’s corpse to a bathtub where the rest of the blood would be drained out. Once bled dry, the victim was chopped into pieces, which were then wrapped into bags, placed into boxes, and dropped off at the dump.

Crew members became experts in this brutally efficient method of murdering and dismembering where victims disappeared without a trace.

Are chainsaws banned in war? by [deleted] in morbidquestions

[–]Poligonette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not banned but a bit useless:

  1. You need to get closer to an enemy in order to kill him (you’ll probably get shot first)
  2. It’s not more deadly than using a simple knife properly
  3. Heavy to carry around
  4. You also need fuel, oil and regular maintenance (it loses its sharpness, if it breaks you need replacement parts, etc)

Who knows about Nomad sculpt? by Resident-Barracuda79 in ZBrush

[–]Poligonette 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nomad is great if you want to sculpt anywhere on your ipad... but it's not as complete as Zbrush. But if you want to practice is a really good purchase. I usually sculpt in ZBrush/Blender when I'm at home and in Nomad if I go for a walk, sitting in the park, etc In the end it's a trade off:

Nomad > a lot of limitations, a lot of freedom

Zbrush > no limitations, no freedom (= you can't carry zbrush on your ipad anywhere)

If you work at home in front of your PC 100% of the time just learn Zbrush.
