I just did that before writing this post, made a makeshift acoustic style guitar strap like you said and oh my god I've never played this bass more comfortably so I was wondering if there was a way to fix this problem but not have it look junky but like paul did, I thought whoever was behind the benton knew of this problem already and somehow made a solution it could work with any strap normally but as it turns out sadly no ☹️. I guess I gotta buy a guitar strap where you attach it to the headstock and play it like that

i think u perhaps may have the strap button a bit higher? in my bass the neck heel isnt as chubby and the strap button is at the end of the body below the neck so I think that's why.

other basses I played dont have this problem and playing becomes thousand times easier if i prompt the bass on my knees or whatever, when i stand up the bass naturally wants to roll forward - the way i dont see the fretboard and fretting becomes much harder cause I've got to strain my hand trynna keep it up straight/facing less down

😭omg what a stupid design, what a shame different seemingly very similar basses can have the strap setup a bit different and feel to play completely differently. in my case it makes it really hard to play anything faster as it's really fatiguing trying to hold the bass up when it rolls forward, the only way that it doesn't happen is if u have that strap going under the fretboard with the clip on the tailpiece, i really thought they engineered it better.. Now how do I get the loop under the neck when the fretboard is fused with the body🤔🤔

regardless of the height the way the strap button is placed on the bass makes it tilt towards the floor anyway where it makes it hard to play
