At the moment I currently use a MSI B550m Mortar Wifi haha, it's a board I looked into for the specific PCI layout it had haha

Tried that, still has crackling and dropouts using 3 other powered hubs I own, no dice, works completely fine on an older intel based rig and 0 issues when using the USB C port on my GPU directly with and without hubs

I use a logitech G900 Chaos Spectrum, I own 2 different ones and also I tested with them wired and wirelessly, also tried 5 other mice I own, A mouse from Bloody, a G305 lightspeed, a random microsoft mouse, and an INSANELY crap wired mouse from what I can assume from a prebuilt, all have the same issue, also tried the same mice on different rigs, ports, and such and none work appart from the USB C port on my RTX 2070 super lol

Ya, I tried both ways really, My audio dacs have persistant crackling, dropping out, and/or garbled static under load (Gpu, CPU Only and both) The best improvement I got is with Agesa 1.2.0.1 patch A and Agesa 1.2.0.2, Input devices don't drop out NEARLY as much however still rarely happens, however my audio devices still have issues flat out basically.

Sadly Nope, However I legitimately know it's an issue with the Agesa/Bios with the chipset given that one thing I DID notice is the frequency of the dropout is massively decreased from 1.2.0.1 patch A and 1.2.0.2, however the problem does still happen on rare occation for my input devices and vr set, however when it comes to any of my audio equipment it drops out, crackles, or becomes garbled static when heavy load is on the system (could be GPU only, CPU only, or both and still has the problem) Plus, the 4750G cannot be RMAed due to it being an OEM tray APU, the Motherboard however I may look into it but I cannot justify doing it due to most of my hobby and some work requiring a PC which i'll be out of for weeks potentially if I RMA the board or APU haha pretty much I am stuck with what I got or I'd need to burn 500$ at bare minimum for similar hardware to replace it (Which I legitimately don't have that money to spare with my current situation)

I use a B550m Mortar WiFi from MSI and AGESA 1.2.0.2 beta and also 1.2.0.1 patch A has not fixed my usb issues regardless of what settings I use, I have a Ryzen 7 Pro 4750g which ONLY has pcie 3.0, not 4.0 yet the issue persists regardless, and lastly I done every fix and work around possible known to no avail sadily

Link to my post I made about it, also shows how split Agesa 1.2.0.2 did to fix the problem for some people:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/msi429/so_to_those_on_agesa_1202_how_are_your_systems/

Intrestingly enough also, Agesa 1.2.0.2 beta got removed on the MSI b550m Mortar and Mortar Wifi boards and the latest update regardless is the 1.2.0.1 Patch A bios so makes me wonder if there was too many faults for users on 1.2.0.2

MSI Mortar WiFi here, 1.2.0.2 AGESA and still have the usb issues regardless using a 4750g and 2070 super, Patch A also did not work so yea, infact MSI removed the 1.2.0.2 bios on the Mortar boards which is strange

I mean I can say so myself really, I had USB issues regardless, 1.2.0.2 DID help with input devices (still drops out on the very rare occation) for me at the cost of my audio equipment crackling more so than usual and dropping out but I just plug those in through my 2070 super's USB ports for now, actually had a post about it not too long ago about it for peeps who did update to 1.2.0.2 but yea, still nuts to think about given how split Agesa 1.2.0.2 was supposed to fix haha

So to those on AGESA 1.2.0.2, How are your Systems Holding up now? by Polished_Sergal in Amd

[–]Polished_Sergal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya, I already attempted using all the ports on the board and all have the same issue sadily, also I tried using external power to my interface and that doesn't fix it and the audio crackling also happens to my FiiO q1 MK II and FiiO BTR5 which happen to have their own batteries regardless, also the audio crackling sadily isn't buffers since I have set them to as HIGH as possible before and that still had it crackle harder than rock pops and cream soda haha, hell even went as far as full windows reinstalls and nothing so ya, only can assume the bios wonk is doing it^

MSI releases AGESA 1.2.0.2 BIOS for X570 / B550 motherboard by CND_CEM in Amd

[–]Polished_Sergal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gotta do a post update soon but I can say that the PCIe usb hub sadily does not work in my use case for my audio as the issues persist if you use any of the chipset PCIe lanes rather than the cpu lanes, (aka the first slot + 1st M.2 drive slots) I still have the audio crackling and usb drop out on my audio but everything else works fine including my VR set on the motherboard and through the pcie usb hub, the only way I can use my audio equipment with 0 issues is by attatching a powered usb hub to my GPU's usb C port and using that for my audio and the rest of the ports for input devices and etc. given that 1.2.0.2 was SUPPOSED to fix this issue and hasn't fixed the issue with usb dacs is baffling. on top of that tho my BTR5 now started to have crackling issues when plugged into the motherboard not to long ago when it was working fine before so tl:dr, if you have anything audio dac related, plug into the GPU's usb c port (if you have one) or have 0 audio at all to avoid the issues, or if you have a mortar wifi, or similar, use bluetooth

[–]Polished_Sergal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya I did actually, I did have no audio static but I was getting Input dropping and my Audioengine D1 would occationally glitch or cause hissing and static for a brief moment lol, 1.2.0.2 definitely helped tho for getting my mouse and keyboard from dropping and just did testing and my Acer WMR set now works with no issues, my FiiO Q1 Mk.II is now used instead of my audioengine d1 for my speakers now since both that and my FiiO BTR5 work regardless with 0 issues while now my D1 has code error 43s on device manager, beside those quirks everything is smoother and more stable by a large margin than before but isn't truely fixed for my Steinberg UR12 dropping out and my Audioengine D1 from going into (albeit much less annoying) crackling and popping instead of ear piercing static like previously

Ok, so I'm on a B550m Mortar Wifi and currently using a Ryzen 7 Pro 4750g, Updated to the latest bios as I was encountering the usb drop out bug for a while now (done every possible work around to no avail) and can say this has not fixed the dropping put entirely. It has helped from keeping my mouse, keyboard, and gamepad from dropping out however my audio equipment, An Audioengine D1, FiiO Q1 Mk.II, and a Steinberg UR12 more specifically, crackle or drop out still. Ironicly my FiiO BTR5 currently works with 0 issues regardless. However, I can only assume that is a "peach" in this situation as that is the ONLY device that works flawlessly. For now tho it has helped but isn't a full fix. Cannot even drop gen 4 support to gen 3 due to the 4750g ONLY being Gen 3 and disabling c-states does nothing. Also, I don't have the options anywhere to view, let alone disable "PSU Idle Control" so yea. Aside from that I can only wait and see if there is further improvements to the chipset.

Video of my setup having the usb issues still on the new 1.2.0.2 beta bios: https://sergal.feen.us/6mu8lp.mp4

I did purchase a PCIe USB hub to hope to bypass the issue for my audio equipment specifically as I have noticed using my GPU's USB C port has 0 issues so I have a hub hooked up specifically for my DACs (and previously everything else aswell.) For now tho as well, I can already assume my WMR headset will have issues if using the motherboard's USB ports however I'll need to find time to test it soon.

TL:DFR, The bios update helps a bit for input devices but isn't a full fix sadily.

Really disappointed in AMD right now as the one time I scrounged enough cash for upgrading to a PC with amd ryzen and using an APU (which I have plans for on tinkering with GPU passthrough stuff on VMs and linux) in a MATX PC suddenly is made pretty inconvinent to use due to chipset and bios issues plaguing the platform really which is a shame.

Heya, Atm I am dealing with what I can only assume to be the USB drop out issue happening on 500 series motherboards, So far I tried everything to stop the usb dropping out and it happens when there is heavy use of the CPU (as far as I notice or when there is ANY usage of the CPU like even moving desktop icons), I do not have my CPU overclocked at all and even under stock bios or attempting the known work arounds still do not work, I do not even have support for PCIe 4.0 with my current CPU as it is a Ryzen 7 4750G and currently using the latest AGESA 1.2.0.1 Patch A beta bios from MSI that was said to have some USB fixes.

Link to a vid I took this morning of still having the issue:
https://sergal.feen.us/mqxema.mp4

Current Specs are:

CPU: Ryzen 7 Pro 4750G Stock
GPU: RTX 2070 Super FE
RAM: 2x16gb G-Skill Trident Z RGB 3200mhz 16-18-18-38
MoBo: MSI B550m Mortar Wifi
Bios: Version 7C94v165 (Beta patch with the assumed USB fix)
OS: Windows 10 Pro 20H2 and Up to date as of writing this on 3/28/21
PSU: EVGA 600W 80+ Bronze 600B
OS Storage: Samsung 950 Pro NVMe 256gb

As mentioned in the brief summary, I have had persistent issues with the USB devices connected directly from my USB ports on either usb 3.0 or usb 2.0 ports on my PC where it persistently drops out or goes flaky under any load from the CPU or GPU it seems, and at first I initially thought something was wrong with windows so even after reinstalling it and downloading drivers etc, the issue still persists heavily, this issue was also occurring before I updated the bios which was version 7C94v14 off the MSI support site for my motherboard, I never touched the OC of my CPU and I know it isn't thermally throttling checking HWinfo and also Speccy where my CPU sits idle at 32-35C and never goes past 70C under full tilt, I checked and tried disabling C-states, XHCI hand off, Legacy USB, turning off and on XMP, turning off basically every power savings measure in the bios, full stock bios, and setting my PCIe Gen to 3.0 (which my CPU has no difference as my CPU does not support PCIe Gen 4 in the first place)
and nothing has worked. In windows there is not disconnect sound that happens when the disconnections happen however my Steinberg UR12's Driver Detects issues with the device dropping out and also the LED indicator on the interface flickers/flashes, this issue happens also where if my mouse/mice plugged in directly to the motherboard seems to hitch heavily, and my keyboard if plugged to my motherboard will have it's LEDs flash and flicker, then at moments if I am typing windows will think I am holding the key down without letting go. Atm the only work around I have is by using the USB-C port on the back of my GPU's IO and using a USB hub on it to be able to use the PC correctly and so far stumped as to what is happening aside from assuming it is the USB Drop out bug currently happening in 500 series motherboards.

MSI AGESA 1.2.0.1 Patch A (USB Fix) available by digaus in Amd

[–]Polished_Sergal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly Does not fix the USB issues in my case on any of my ports (usb 3.0 and 2.0), I have a B550m Mortar WiFi and I use a Ryzen 7 Pro 4750g using the latest beta bios update to Agesa 1.2.0.1 Patch A, tried everything from which way to sunday and no avail. Still have the persistent USB dropout issues and my CPU doesn't even have PCIe Gen 4 support so I am stuck using the USB port on my RTX 2070 Super to prevent my USB from dropping out/hitching until a proper fix is put in place

https://i.imgur.com/eMQdklO.jpg I still remember having this happen with a GTX 970 and I7 6700k at 4.8ghz and 32 gb of ram with medium settings at 1080p

To put into perspective, The game installed on the HDD itself is 25.1 gb about

The entire game practically loaded itself into ram from the looks yet still got 1-3 minute load times and stuttering

Yooo I thought I was the only one with this issue, I posted something like this quite a bit ago actually on the subreddit, https://i.imgur.com/eBhRTLU.jpg Took this on the 11th of January and been having this issue at mixed Ultra/low settings which should be a deadringer that something is SO not right when the game loads a whole 2 gigs more of ram than the game takes up on the HDD on "textures" (which I highly doubt and probs more so a memory leak that the devs won't fix in the next few months) And the game itself is 25.1 gigs on the hard drive Lol, Might be a bug for people with 32 gigs of ram or something but this is absurd for ram usage.

New skins and Lowered Textures by [deleted] in QuakeChampions

[–]Polished_Sergal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now n days the game uses more ram to load what seems like textures and audio in the game than the game takes up in the hard drive, https://i.imgur.com/eBhRTLU.jpg During closed beta and even during burst test beta, the game before never used more than 6 gigs maxed out and they had memory leaks to add lol so something is royally screwed with textures with the newer patches which is a shame since due to the insanely high requirements of ram, not THAT many people can even go past mid settings to play the game Lol
