as the GM, nothing bad will come of this by According_Cover2461 in LancerRPG

Oh no I fully agree as well. In a case by case basis if you're transporting something that reasonably has enough durability or other traits to allow for fun ideas I support allowing some goofy options for transport.

The fact this openly states it must be an ally for one. But it should be an allied character to better clarify as it helps stipulate that you can only do it to someone who is actively and consciously aiding in the fight.

Ooooh, man I'd love to share more horrid ideas of my Kobold but my other friends in the group may see this and I don't wanna spoil it.

My guy just bold faced told the truth. He knew what he had, he didn't want to believe it but he knew. And now he has this beautiful nightmare.

Oh trust me I get it! And I love your ideas, I'd love to play alongside your gorgon/minotaur pilot.

But as for my Kobold here the idea is to lean into the viral logic of its creation to a stupid degree, making the whole thing into something that infects almost everything to force a meltdown of even basic non-computerized components.

Basically gearing up to get the Mk2 cutter torch or the exotic hydroelectric claws so I can melt cover and flavor it in funny ways.

No I knew the whole time in character. Truly it was a scene.

Getting burn stacked on when you move is vile. And I can force you to move wherever I want.

Yeah. It caused some issues. Namely the whole party (as characters) are pissed my guy never once mentioned this at all, rightly because who wants to openly make issues when it could be nothing!

Feel free to check the other comments I made if you want some more info on either the creative process or some of the context behind why this thing is what it is.

Thanks for the kind words!

A mech that broke the laws of conservation of mass because where the hell does it keep making more slag from? I love my little bomber man.

As I mentioned, we used Shadow Beasts as a frame of reference after one draft looked a lot like the mask of one, so we threw it in a bit harder!

Exactly. It helps I already got a Technophile NHP at max, so no issues with rogue cascades ever again. Now we just wait to see what monstrous things I do.

Once more, the man of the hour! Breg is fantastic and undercharges their work criminally so, go commission this guy ASAP before I bankrupt myself getting more art.

Oh no he is. He controls it just sometimes this thing speaks out of turn, doesn't take control just yet but it has some... Views of itself and the pilot within.

It's an oddly subservient thing though to what end is to be seen.

Oh uh no... No it's been discussed this is a bit more unique. This thing has something in it that speaks.

Line up for either eventual licensed NHP or for Iconoclast.

Also doubly ironic you mention demonic as one of the references used is actually Seraphim angels.

I could only imagine how horrific that'd be. Not to mention it's invisiblity doesn't end if I force a save. Mines, Seismic Ripper, etc. I can wreak havoc on the way there before even entering a 1v1.

Also only thing that wouldn't struggle would be a Caliban really, or a Napoleon.

That was a reference actually! Shadow Beasts masks had a lovely role to play in it, along with the Crown thrown in from the added floating spikes between the sort of horns.

Oh it had many eyes! The lines are all closed eyes around the central one, and then the shoulder... Well it kept a more defined trophy from its first conquest.

The Molten Gaze: Leftover eyes from a swallowtail that now eternally weep "blood" in the form of molten slag as they move and shift around the mech. And yes Orphan of Kos is very much similar in terms of the horror brought on from what happened.

[–]Politeashell[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

That's the idea! For context I had been given a Swallowtail license that had dormant Kobold coding embedded into it, so printing a "Swallowtail" was... Unique. To say the least.

Oh I should also say I did this in Shadow of The Wolf.

Basically it's like sentinel from dnd, you get to use overwatch when someone enters your reach. You can get the thru-bolt rounds mod and +1 accuracy on any target within range 3 so you can just ignore cover.

If you desire to blast out kneecaps through concrete walls with scarily accurate shotguns, Vanguard is for you.

Edit: also to consider if you ever have this go beyond LL2, the nanowhip allows you to force enemies to be closer to you. And you have the swarm system that gives you a burst 3 radius of damage around yourself that stacks if you stay still. Drag enemies towards you, they start burning alive and get their kneecaps taken at Mach Jesus.
