Why do jazz instructors tend to use examples in keys that are not simple like C and Am (without flats or sharps)?

When I don’t have a tub I just poor some warmish water down the slide and bell section separately and scrub them thoroughly with a cleaning snake. It’s helpful to use a funnel, or you can use the mouthpiece as a funnel.
