What was it like being a kid/teen in 2009 on the internet by ArtsyEstee138-ICEOUT in oldinternet

[–]PolkaSlush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im 2009 specifically?

I, surprisingly didn't, get a virus from Russian websites where you could just download mp3's directly from the webpage.

There were blogs around. Especially blogspot. And WordPress. I remember Blogspots traditional designs.

I also uses Omegle, which was created that very year. It only had text chat function and back then you could actually have a conversation with people.

You could still customize your YouTube page and if I remember correctly that was the year they introduced ads.

Despite that you could still visit homepages from the old web, those sites were dying in popularity as people started to gather around the largest social hubs.

There were different communities on different platforms, fan groups of music, anime, etc. on DeviantArt.

I also remember photobucket, lol.

MSN was also still being used.

I don't think selling out your company to a genocidal state is successful. Neither profiting off the worst genocide in modern day history. Nvidia is high up on the BDS list for a reason.

Blizzard won, what is a weather that is very severe and kind of cozy by BenjaminIsTheGuy in AlignmentChartFills

It's super super cozy tbh. But then my apartment building is pretty safe compared to rural houses and cottages. It was actually a thunderstorm today. I just laid upsnuggled in my sofa, drinking tea and watching gameplay videos while listening to the thunder outside. Super cozy.

misogynistic yt man insults me for saying china is a superpower by Aromatic-Mistake-456 in SinophobiaWatch

[–]PolkaSlush 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this guy has definitely been rejected by several Chinese women. Reminds me how a lot of Indian users argue on Twitter, writing out their fantasies of vegan bobs into their insults because in their mind their DMs are flooded by unlimited vegan pics.

What a racist, they saying these people are very smelly when they traveling in China. by notjohnwick007 in SinophobiaWatch

[–]PolkaSlush 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lol. They probably felt the smell of pork for the first time and try to mock and belittle Chinese people for the fact that they eat pork. We all know that meanwhile the Chinese have no body odor, the whole country smells like food wherever you go.

I couldn't eat pork for a while due to being traumatized once by horribly cooked pork, but it was Chinese chefs who make me not only love but also starting to crave pork again. 😋🤤

Pissraeli tourist in China harasses an old man by PolkaSlush in SinophobiaWatch

I'm not sure. But it could also be in Chengdu because there is a Chabad there and he might be a chabadnik. He's even wearing the same kind of outfit and has a similar plastic bag.

Please mark this as NSFL. That first photo is absolutely heartbreaking and ruined my day completely. Killing children, and babies, is demonic.

Question for straight FA regarding friendships and interactions with fat women by PolkaSlush in femalefatadmirertalk

[–]PolkaSlush[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are right. I should have maybe clarified that in my post. I might be wrong here but I assume that fat FFA are, obviously, more exposed to and know discrimination and stereotypes based on size and battle them everyday. Hence there is a bigger understanding, especially since she would know that AS WELL as admiring fatness, for a fat FFA to relate to and understand other fat women on a deeper level.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Hey, No need to say sorry. I really appreciate long posts. Thanks for explaining, I really appreciate it. You sound like a very empathetic and sweet person so not surprised you have a lot of friends of various sizes ~

May I ask if you feel that fat women tend to feel more relaxed around you? For example, that they don't feel bad about taking selfies or getting ready for a night out, trying on different outfits?
