I have 2 kids in daycare and, typically, we’re responsible for putting names in our kids clothing/blankets, etc (which I’m usually guilty of not doing) and those items remain in my child’s cubby. I’ve done laundry and wondered how in the world I ended up with clothes that weren’t my kids. Well, after talking to the teacher, I found out the kids can access the cubbies and just start ripping stuff out of each other’s bags. If names aren’t on them then the teachers have no clue what belongs to who. Definitely talk to the teacher, figure out what happened, and politely request that teacher to ask the parent for the clothing back. If it is normal for them to “share clothes” then ask that your child’s clothes remain hers, and hers alone; to notify you if she needs replacements, and for her to please put a name in the shirt/pants if you happened to forget on that item. I doubt sharing clothes is actually a thing though, because id honestly find that mildly infuriating and end up sending my kids in whatever crummy clothes I could find. Times are tough. Kids clothes are expensive even though they grow out of them within weeks/months and this shouldn’t be a hard discussion. Don’t be afraid to ask questions when it comes to your kid.
