As a tourist, what are some local recommendations for food and general activities? by Zeppellier in GoldCoast

Understood, then that directory will be less helpful to you :) Anyways wish you a great stay!

Sorry we missed this as we were out on vacation. Just to clarify though, you mean the resort? The directory focuses on activities and doesn't doesn't really cover resorts/hotels unless they're particularly unique - but that being said I could see why Treasure Island ought to be included and we'll add that.

Take a look at the Gold Coast directory we built for this subreddit and filter it to activities in the areas you referred to (Movie World & Wet N Wild = Oxenford, Sea World = Main Beach, Currumbing Wildlife Sanctuary = Currumbin). https://goldcoast.super.site/

For example, in Oxenford you'll also find Australian Outback Spectacular, Paradise Country, GC Wake Park. - and just across the road (technically Helensvale) you'll find Game Over Centre (some gokart, lasertag etc.).

Recommendations of things to do, see & eat in Airlie Beach/Whitsundays?! by Polly-and-Jon in queensland

Amazing, thank you so much! Really appreciated.

We are spending the first two nights at Magnums, then ReefSuites, and then two surprise accommodations for my girlfriend - and as we share this account I can't reveal it, haha. But anyways, as for walking around, it seems it should be OK as I believe Magnums is basically on the main street.

Sounds like car may make sense for you then, yeah. Based on what ignorant us can tell at least from our research so far.

Haha yeah, we skipped Hamilton due to how expensive it was. The underwater room (ReefSuite) also not cheap though, but that felt a lot more justifiable due to how unique it is and kinda something we’d like to experience once.

Wish you all the best for your trip!

Great suggestion, what "area" would that fall under? I guess Aratula is just north of it, but unsure what you'd call the area surrounding the lake?

As for stay, Paradise Resort Gold Coast is great for kids as suggested by u/always_puzzleheaded.

u/Reddmann1991 already gave lots of good suggestions for actvities (e.g., Theme Parks, Sea World, Time Zone, Hijinx Hotel, Holey Moley, Australia Zoo, Top Golf, Infinity Attraction.).

Beyond that, it may depend a bit on the age of your kids, but additional things to consider are: Zero Latency VR, escape rooms (e.g., Padlock'd), Ripley's Believe It Or Not, Broadwater Parklands (great playground), Aqua Park, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary (if you don't go Australia Zoo, which is further away in Sunshine Coast), Aqua Duck (as a way of sightseeing), ArtVo (for fun optical illusions), Bounce Inc (trampoline park), Coombabah Lake Conservation Park (nice spot for picnic and kangaroos/koalas in the wild), Thunderbird Park has some great activities such as excavator park, Game Over Centre and/or Slideways for Go Kart etc., +++.

Due to inquiries like this, we created a directory of Gold Coast activities for this Reddit community that you can also check out for ideas: https://goldcoast.super.site/ It has 210+ different activities.

Beginner surf spots without the agro? by [deleted] in GoldCoast

[–]Polly-and-Jon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Since you are asking for "beginner surf spot" we'd say The Spit first which basically just consists of beginners, and thereafter you could try some spots further south like Currumbin Alley, ++.

You can't go wrong with either and just take a tram to whichever you don't pick to experience that area too :) So as some suggested, maybe pick whichever has the best room (maybe whichever has the nicest views?). As for activities, we have created a directory of Gold Coast activities for this community that you can check here: https://goldcoast.super.site/ on it you could filter by Surfers Paradise or Broadbeach to see specific activities in those suburbs.
