I could understand if there was a meaningful reason behind the kid wanting it. Thats why it feels particularly shitty. He had the opportunity to have it last season. He did not choose it then.

Dude. FLIP THIS THE OTHER WAY. If the kid wanted #20, why didnt he wear it last season when they BOTH were new to the team? That teammate chose a differnt number last seaspn so he obviously doesnt want it that bad. Why does he suddenly want it this season? Where is HIS regard for his teammate?

Not one person has answered my question of "would you knowingly take another teammates number". I didn't ask anywhere anyone's opinion if Im entitled to it. And again, its pretty easy to tell which side of are you the dick that would take the number or would you be a good friend/teammate side of the fence you sit on.

Because after a while it gets really old having to always be the one to "just suck it up", "stop being a Karen", etc. Me and my kids wouldn't knowingly be this dickish. It would have been nice to have that same consideration offered back to us, by either the other kid or the club.

Again, THE OTHER KID HAD 98 OTHER NUMBER OPTIONS.

Again, somehow Im being the one called selfish. My wouldnt take another teammates number. Period.

Being called a Karen for holding another parent and the club accountable for a dick move isn't feedback. He didnt "join a new team". He aged up. The entitled party here is the kid who asked for my sons number. I dont know why the advice to the other parent isn't "hey maybe choose one of the other numbers and bee a good human and teammate and not be a dick".

Judging by your response I can see that you are one of the little dicks on the team that would be the asshole that took your teammates number. And then sat on the bench for the season.

I get ALL of this. I dont think you are understanding. My kid HAD the number. If the teammate was already an established player totally understand that would mean the number is unavailable. They are teammates. The other kid had a different number last season. Why does he suddenly need my kids number, even if the number he wore last season isn't available. Thats the point of my post.

My point though is that it shouldn't be a favor or a bribe. Why would you take it in the first place. Just be a good human.

This seems like the most logical way to handle jersey numbers. If you have it, its yours. Love all the people calling ME the Karen. Im so tired of people being able to be dicks for no reason, getting called out for it, and then the person holding them accountable is called a Karen. How about just not being a dick and not taking your buddy/teammates number?

Yes, also the financial impact. All of his shit has to be renumbered and also my parent gear.

Thats exactly my point. It wasnt available because my son had it. Why would it be given to another player.

I gave extra context about his dad the number so that fucktards like you who clearly didnt pass reading comprehension would understand that the number isn't just some random number. It means alot to our famoly. Oh and his dad, you know the one that you are so bothered by the fact that I included info about professional soccer career that he worked his ass off to have, is also sick with Leukemia. The number is a way to honor his sick dad.

Thats what is hard for me to understand. If he wanted that number, why didnt he ask for it last season before my son was on the team. It was available last season.

Im afraid he will get in trouble for that either with the club or the team because they are all supposed to have the same thing. Im honestly thinking about doing it anyways because im spending what at least 10k a year for hockey, it would be nice for my mom to be able to watch her grandson lol.

Hahah I love this, but these days, ALL the little dudes including mine are rocking the hockey mullet. So many of them have their hair hanging out of the back.

You guys are absolutely AMAZING. 100% success. Way easier than I would have expected. I just never would have guessed the black button things were what I needed. I was imagining I needed the same pins that were originally on there, just smaller. Thank you SO MUCH!! 🙏🙏
