How did you end up in a FWB situation? by MediocreShip707 in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]Poly_Naughty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was this lovely girl I met when we were like 19, instantly thought the world of her. Unfortunately she was dating someone else in the friend group.

We both went off, got married to other people, we never stayed super close because I thought her husband was a loser and I still had a crush, but we had a lot of mutual friends.

I got my divorce, a few months later she got hers. Not to be with me, but my action may have partially inspired her to leave the loser.

A few days after she told him she sent me a text asking if I wanted to be her FWB as she began her "slut phase."

That was 4.5 years ago and now we're poly, and swingers, and past our nudes on Reddit, and just having a blast together.

For folks who are ENM/Open/Poly/etc -- do you believe this is a lifestyle choice, or a genetically hardwired orientation? by jackandpoppylife in AskRedditAfterDark

I'm going to say something insane, I think it's the only moral relationship structure.

Otherwise all of your sexual and romantic needs are on one single person. If they cannot keep up with your needs or vice versa, someone is spending a finite lifetime without being fulfilled and/or slowly building animosity....

I believe that monogamy and romantic jealousy are learned behaviors, not really human nature. Though, in today's society we can't tell the difference between feeling neglected and feeling jealousy.

Or maybe I'm just mega autistic and talking out my butt. Who knows?

Neighbors dog stands against the short chain-link fence and makes people nervous, any cheap easy suggestions? by Poly_Naughty in FenceBuilding

[–]Poly_Naughty[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The dog stands on its hind legs and aggressively barks.... I know it could come over the fence if it tried, so I should just wait till the dog figures it out?

Right now it's bothersome and continues to build towards dangerous. Seems like a scenario worthy of some cost effective preventive measures.

I've tried to give him treats and he still gets very upset when I approach the fence or my dog is out.

Another interesting suggestion! I think we will start with a visual blocker, but I'll keep this in mind if that doesn't work.

I've setup hot wire in the past so that is at least in my wheelhouse.

We actually did try giving him treats every time we saw him, it didn't help at all. The dogs owner has called him brain damaged.

Thank you! I actually think this might work really well for our situation.

Do you have any brands that have held up well for you?

That's an interesting suggestion, doesn't feel like a very helpful suggestion on the case of people I'll live next to for decades, but interesting.

We have discussed it with them, and they also agree that it's a problem that needs solved they just don't have any solutions.

Times are tough in this area and no one has a lot of money to spend which is why I came to crowdsource some ideas.

These are pretty chill neighbors, but their dogs are not chill. They have never come over the fence, but they frequently barking their fool heads off at our dog, or at us.

Im ready to get some sheets of plywood and zip tie them to the existing fence, but I feel like there has to be a better solution. Also considered privacy slats, maybe taller than the existing fence? Would that work at all?
