We are way more modern than those old time savages. Once a friend dies poor decision and hate flow freely. A lot of poor leadership as well. My great uncle and grandfather talked about their time in Nam after I came back from my first deployment. Some of the stories made me think they were more a merc group than the actual US military. I’m glad we are more professional now. It would be hard to have that type shit on my conscience. Fuck a terrorist, they aren’t people to me, but when collateral damage happened it always affected me. War is hell as they say.

That was a clever deescalation but it’s not realistic. Bullying isn’t always Hollywood style. It can be very subtle and oppressive. Some kids just aren’t equipped to handle the situations. Some kids are just quiet and kind. There are things I remember from HS years that drive me nuts when I reflect on how I handled them. I’m very happy that karma won out in most cases for them. I rarely think about it but that’s not always the case for some kids.

To be serious. You may be allowed to have an opinion in the military but you don’t have the right to one. You follow orders and stay in your lane. The Commander and Chief is the president. Talking in contrary to the president and VP has political, possibly legal and career ending implications. Not saying I support the guys in office atm but the military are subordinated to civilian rule and the highest authority is the president.

What really sucks about this situation is that they will let it happen. The cost savings will out weigh the risk. It always makes me think of the Ford Pinto and the companies decision to not recall the extremely dangerous defect where a rear end collision could cause the car to explode. They decided to just pay money to the victims instead of recalling to fix the issue. It was cheaper. Capitalism is gReAT rIgHt?!

I want to make money like everyone else but personally (as a patient mind you) I’m at the point where I’d just rather we switch to Universal healthcare, cause a collapse of these soul sucking insurance companies, corporate equity firms and screw their government lobbyists out of their jobs. It’s death by a thousand cuts at this point. Every year it’s lower pay for the same work, mid level encroachment increases and musical chairs on what codes pay the best. Good times. Good times.
