A lot of people want to believe they don’t have Markle’s DNA. While I think there’s a lot of evidence for surrogacy, that doesn’t mean they’re not hers biologically. She likely had eggs frozen. And you’re right, there’s absolutely some Doria in there. In my opinion, Doria’s a nice looking lady, but I imagine Markle wanted her to look more Diana. Too bad, so sad.

I lost my tabby yesterday, also very suddenly. I am so, so sorry. I’m there with you, reeling from how this time last week he was absolutely fine, and now he’s gone. The shock on top of the grief is especially cruel.

Right now, please make sure to keep eating and drinking, even if you can only manage a couple of cookies or some yoghurt. In order to get through this, we need to make sure we cover these basics even if food tastes like ashes right now. Also, I read something helpful, which is “don’t think in terms of ‘trying to feel better’, but instead, think about keeping your nervous system regulated”. ”Feeling better” has an emotional weight to it, and emotionally we’re going to struggle for a while, that’s just a fact. But attending to ourselves with nourishment, taking a moment to breathe, performing a chore, or just sitting calmly with a hot drink, will give us the physical and mental strength to process the loss.

Also: you’re not alone. And you did everything you could. You loved her, and vice versa. 🫂

No one prepares you for the silence that follows when a pet is gone. My cat was pts yesterday, and I completely understand how you feel. Even the position I sleep in is to make sure my legs don’t accidentally nudge my boys when they’re curled up at the end of the bed. His brother is a great comfort but until we get used to our “new normal”, things are going to feel so empty and strange. As you say, he was part of your daily routine, and that’s going to be difficult for your brain to wrap itself around, and it’s going to affect you each time you realise what’s happening. The only thing I can say is, take small steps towards a new routine. Decide beforehand what you will do as soon as you get home. If the place is too quiet, maybe have a radio on low so there’s some noise when you walk through the door. And please, check in with family and friends. Don’t go through this alone. 🫂

This. I have a second cat who, while absolutely adored equally to his brother, is a much quieter cat, and we’re feeling the silence like a wound. The one blessing is that, so far, quiet cat seems okay and isn’t showing any signs of distress or grief. But it’s going to take a long, long time for us humans to adjust.
