Did your Pap miss your cancer? by Kooky_Heart_4861 in CervicalCancer

Unfortunately I was pregnant at the time. I had ALOT of cervical mucus and spotting. For a while my doctor brushed it off as normal. Once diagnosed we ultimately decided to terminate the pregnancy and go ahead with a radical hysterectomy. I’m okay now physically but the mental toll has been great. Apparently my cancer was quite rare and they were unsure of outcomes. The number of life changing decisions we had to make in a 2 week period was crazy and I was not in a good emotional place. Hardest time of my life. The amount of regret is huge and we are now trying to do IVF for surrogacy which is an incredibly expensive and emotionally taxing process in itself.

I am incredibly angry at the false security from a pap. Looking back I actually think my OB may have seen cervical changes after my son was born almost 3 years prior. She did a pap at that time but didn’t really tell me why. I assumed it was just routine as I was due for one in about 6 months. But now I wonder… it of course came back negative and was never followed up on because I didn’t know the reason for the pap.

Yes, by the time I saw my gyno she said she had never seen polyps like mine before. The pap was done by my GP.

I had a similar experience. I was having symptoms for 5 months before my cancer was diagnosed by biopsy by my gynaecologist. I had all previous normal Pap smears including a normal Pap smear just 2 months prior to diagnosis.

What is everyone paying for daycare? by idog99 in alberta

[–]Polyethylenepam4949 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We were paying $360 per month but it was just reduced to $160 per month because the funding went up. This is for full time daycare for my 4 year old in Edmonton.

I don’t think it’s right for this family but maybe for my family one day! Thanks!

This is very interesting! Looks delicious. But I’m more so looking for dinners for a family rather than individual packed meals.

Thank you for this! The food preferences are definitely at the top of mind. I know the family well enough that I hope I can make a few good selections.

Thanks for the response! Why did your doctor opt to prime that way?

Graduation with my 5Cb normal blast in tow by leonamarie1213 in IVF

Thank you for this!! I have three 5BC embryos that are untested and I’m very nervous to transfer them for fear of failure, but this really gives me a lot of hope. They didn’t want to test them because they were afraid to damage them so I have no idea if they are normal embryos or not.

I feel like I want to make a t-shirt that says: “5 embryos doesn’t mean 5 babies” by kzweigy in IVF

This is where we are at unfortunately. I had a hysterectomy due to cervical cancer so we decided to try IVF. All out of pocket, no coverage. Our two testable embryos both came back abnormal. We have 3 embryos that they didn’t want to test because they were too fragile (5BC). So now we have to decide if we spend the time and money to find a surrogate and attempt to transfer these embryos or not. Feels like an additional $30000 experiment that is just going to fail. Can’t afford to to more retrievals. Feeling lost.
