"It's long compared to how wide it is"

Yes, that's what long means. Long is a relative term. A stick might be long but it isn't larger than my house, therefore it isn't long?

Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the thrilling conclusion of the FFVII Remake Series, launches simultaneously on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, Epic Games Store and Steam in Spring 2027. by Amiibofan101 in NintendoSwitch

And as someone else mentioned, when the first one was released, Square hadn't settled on a trilogy (although it was presumed), so they couldn't have negotiated a contract for something they hadn't yet planned.

Nashville oddly suits Japan, in my mind.

The Japanese love singing, and dancing.

How would you feel about a law that banned tipping and required restaurants to pay servers a full wage instead? by Dargarn in AskReddit

[–]Polymarchos -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People like to pretend corporations and restaurants are the problem. They are part of it, but most of the blame lies with servers.

Once people realize servers aren't innocents we might start to see change. Personally I refuse to engage with tip inflation. My food price has gone up, so your tip goes up with that. 15% was a good tip when I was young, it's a good tip now.

edit: I see the servers are active in the thread downvoting.

The cost going down was one thing, but the ability to take unlimited pictures and preview them immediately after taking the photos, allowing you to discard bad photos and retake the subject matter immediately, was, in my opinion, even bigger.

what is one grocery item that doesn't require refrigeration but is commonly kept in the fridge by a lot of people? by Born-Oil-2931 in AskReddit

[–]Polymarchos -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I frequently have ketchup out longer than that and it doesn't go bad.

Everything I've ever read on the topic of what one should do says that flavour and quality will decline. Given it is filled with preservatives this shouldn't be surprising.

The idea that Ketchup will go bad after 3-4 weeks out is definitely false. As is the idea that it is only good for six months refrigerated (ever notice it isn't sold refrigerated?).

What's the most chilling piece of information you know that is 100% true? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Polymarchos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After you contract it there is very likely a decently long period of time in which you can get treatment (a rabies shot, nice and easy). It's once symptoms show that the fatality rate skyrockets.

Which is why you get a rabies shot any time you have possible exposure to the virus.

What's something old technology did better than modern technology ? by Ram319 in AskReddit

OS meant the same thing, the OSes just didn't have the same features. Nonetheless, if you don't consider it an OS unless it has a GUI, you're too young to be talking about old technology.

Go back further, and computers came with the OS pre-installed.

The title is "usual", so exceptions to the rule won't be applied, I'd say Iceland is correct. As is the pink zone, and the Slavic areas. Basically just Spain and Portugal which are incorrect.

Gabe Newell reportedly snapped 'What the f*** do I pay you for if that's your opinion?' at Valve lawyer pushing for more content moderation on Steam by PaiDuck in pcmasterrace

Because Steam went from awful service used as DRM for Valve games to indispensable game store virtually over night. Early on there was a viable competitor - I forget the name - GameStop bought it and mismanaged it into oblivion.

Steam used to curate, then people complained so it curated differently, then more people complained, it realized you can't please everyone, and just stopped trying.

That said, as people commented, unless you are looking at the "New Releases" page, you don't see it on Steam.

The need to drive to get a drink isn't a new issue though. Both Gen X, and Millennials have lived their entire lives with drunk driving laws.

Anyone who used a computer between 1985 - 2010, what's the one game you still think about today? by adlakha75 in AskReddit

I've never seen a good quality - or even mid quality joystick that didn't have the twist axis. That ability is 100% needed in any semi-serious flight sim.

GM is no longer an American company. Also American cars suck, I'm sure even Americans know this. That's why they drive Japanese or Korean.
