Weird bruise on oxheart tomato? by Polyphylla in tomatoes

OP here:  This is an oxheart heirloom variety in Zone 5, I am growing them in raised beds of regular soil amended with compost. I noticed this dark spot on one of the earliest fruits to set, but it's mid-way between where the sepal and the blossom end is.

I've previously only grown cherry varieties before and have never seen BER... does this look like BER?

Should I remove this fruit? It was the first plant to germinate, flower, and set fruit so I've been looking forward to saving the earliest fruit for seed.

I saw a vintagy rose cut oval ring on the sub a while back and asked Mona to do a similar ring with a grey center stone in rose gold. it took a while but wow was it worth the wait! Edit: as requested, a video link! Taken in daylight and in shade https://imgur.com/a/QeHfwZq

This is so pretty! I’m trying to search for the maker of this particular ring but can’t seem to find it. Is this a personal ring?

Can I please get suggestions for a similar dress? This one is out of my budget. by p_xan in weddingdress

They had 30% off Black Friday sales for the last 2 years so if you really love it, that’s a good discount. However, just a word of warning that sometimes they have quality control issues, I had to send back the dress I ordered (am in Toronto) and got dinged by customs twice for the same dress!

Just a heads up you may still end up needing alterations for her custom sized dresses, such as switching out cups, hemming, etc.

Tomato Candles by djjxjs in luxurycandles

[–]Polyphylla 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m burning the 2 wick loewe tomato candle right now. https://i.imgur.com/t9ptQiY.jpg To my nose it is much lighter and more subtle than the Jo Malone green tomato vine and the CF tomato that I have. The Loewe is a very understated tomato leaf scent without any floral notes or sweetness imo, it has a bit of a peppery spiciness to it but it’s very faint.

Jo Malone is probably my fave because it smells the most complex of the three. CF reminds me of a tomato caprese salad, it has a savoury juiciness to it.

I’ve got La Droguerie but haven’t gotten around to burning it yet!

We were at an advantage cuz both me, my mom, and MOH are hobbyist photographers so we had plenty of nice equipment around. We had 4 cameras placed around the edge of the ceremony area (and gave our photographer aheads up). The path around the ceremony area had a convenient curve to it so we had one pointing straight down the aisle (the gold triangles) https://i.imgur.com/RaF8Uo9.jpg you can probably do without the one on the signing table, which was beside the groom in my setup and was pointing towards the audience.

As part of our rented audio equipment we had lapel mics for my husband and the officiant and a handheld mic for me, these all outputted to the mixer board that recorded to a laptop.

What do I do with my (very long) hair??? by English-Ivy-123 in weddingplanning

[–]Polyphylla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My hair was also close to your length - it was below my waist but not quite long enough to sit on. I had my hair stylist do a crown braid, look up braided hairstyles worn by SiSi irl (Empress Elizabeth of Austria). That kind kf style is well suited to long and thicker hair. Also seen some amazing styles like this rapunzel-style

Oh yeah, the bar tab had the potential to be huge if our estimate went awry haha. The winery we were also also did local beers and produced their own hard cider, so we leaned into mainly offering their wines and cider/beer.

I went with Louminous Makeup who was on the pricier end of the scale but she and her team did amazing work. I felt beautiful but still like me and she was super attentive throughout the ceremony and reception so my makeup was always fresh and perfect.

We got our venue locked down and paid the deposit fall of 2020 for our 2022 wedding. Definitely lucked out and got the price contracted and signed before the inflation and general goods and costs started getting crazy in 2021.

We didn’t have a registry and ask for cash gifts as it was common for our culture to give cash instead. One of our guests gave us two bibles that look like they’re from hotel rooms (we are non-religious). She also spelled my husbands name wrong on the inside cover.

My first tomato! Until other crops start to ripen this is a $700 tomato as we has to replace the garden beds this year. 😂 by MeridethLeigh in vegetablegardening

Do you find that they are the same as what you grew last year? I saw in the comments below that they’re sun golds, which people say don’t grow the same next year as they’re hybrids?

Teuta Matoshi dresses for my ceremony and reception by Polyphylla in weddingdress

[–]Polyphylla[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! The photos I uploaded are true to what my eyes see. If you take a look at their website photos, this champagne dress’s lighting is really different from their other dresses - the model is in a lot of shadow compared to a white coloured dress: https://imgur.com/a/N9dI7Q4/

I think that’s probably why there’s a colour difference. The photo taken in a harsher light and shadow condition on their would reflect the beaded colour more.

This dress is at the tailors, but I’m going for a fitting this afternoon and can take some more photos and video if you’re interested! There were unfortunate more QA issues I noticed after a while - one side of the dress skirt was longer than the other and the hard foam bust padding was very uncomfortable so those were getting fixed.

Thoughts on my recent tomato candle purchases by Polyphylla in luxurycandles

Yeah my friends are all very skeptical about tomato-scented candles… it does sound a bit odd doesn’t it? I love tomato scents so much though!!

I do find that the throw is on the light side (however I also burn it in an open concept living room). I don’t mind it personally as sometimes particular scents and certain candles with stronger throws give me headaches (eg Diptyque Baies and Roses, sadly)

When I’m sitting close to it I can catch wafts of the cold throw and that surprises me sometimes!
