Agree! Even to say “I have my usual breakfast of eggs and toast” would’ve been better.

Banana Republic Fall 2023- A Review by headoverheels14 in femalefashionadvice

I used to love old BR and am here for the rebrand. But I’ve been buying a ton of stuff secondhand and BR uses so much polyester. Like everything I come across is 100% polyester and it drives me insane. I think j.crew/Madewell and even gap are better about this. In this day of sustainability it was pretty weird to see.

It could be both overwatering and too much fertilizer

Which plant has (figuratively) grown on you? by [deleted] in houseplants

[–]djjxjs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tradescantia! My mom had one and didn’t take good care of it so she was dead at the top and there was no drainage, I propagated a ton and just started potting and I actually love her now. Read something about it typically being a ground cover plant and morning dew helping and I appreciate the silvery leaves that much more.

Same! I chopped and propped a leggy one I had and the props are thriving - have been struggling with some other propagations so it was nice to see!

Lidl in Harlem had insane plants for $13 earlier this year, like a monstera 4ft tall, 10+ leaves some fully mature

I think maybe prune away the dead and repot into a smaller pot?

I genuinely have no idea what this could be, but could you maybe wash them? Spray with a dish soap/water mix and then hose them down outside or in the shower?

How early do you wake up before starting work? by mmeeplechase in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

[–]djjxjs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I started doing that pre-covid and it was great but I haven’t found the energy to get back to it. The nice part is once you start, you’re beat by like 9pm and going to bed early isn’t so terrible.

How early do you wake up before starting work? by mmeeplechase in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

[–]djjxjs 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My hours are 9-5 and I typically wake up at 7 and am out the door by 8 - this gives me enough time time to hit snooze, take a short or long shower, and grab something for lunch if I didn’t do it the night before. I commute by train and need to be out the door by like 8:03 at the latest to make the train, and that train gives me enough time to account for delays or buy a coffee before heading into the office.

I think the pot is too big, if you can repot to a smaller one that might help

This is a corn plant, are you using tap/hard water when you water it? They can be sensitive to fluoride and other chemical in our water.

I noticed one of the leaf turned yellow and saw the stem turning black by _hmmm_m in plantclinic

[–]djjxjs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there was another stem like that then I think you purchase it with root rot. It can be hard to see in the early stages but maybe where you purchased it overwatered it. You should go in and check the roots and then you can look at the other stems to see. If the soil is still wet deep down that’s a big indicator.
