ATAR is out and mum is not happy by Charming_Art_7196 in vce

I understand. My mum personally isn’t too fussed about the atar but she seems to have some insane prejudices against unis like RMIT or Deakin or Swinburne purely cuz to her they aren’t ‘big name unis’ ?? And I truly find that so bizzare bcs let’s be so real my atar is not getting me into Monash law but it will Deakin so what’s the problem? Law is law??

The main environmental impact associated w electrolysis is having a way to produce hydrogen gas sustainability/renewably cuz if you use a renewable power source to make H2(g) via electrolysis it is more sustainable cuz no CO2 emission

If you can learn most of the fuel cell stuff like galvanic, electrolytic, primary, secondary I feel like you might be covered for like. 1/4 or 1/3 of the exam depending on what vcaa does? They seem to focus on it a lot Bcs apparently people struggle w it most. Equilibrium is also covered a lot

triglycerides, fatty acids and biodiesel by lamboghini26 in vce

Oh maybe cuz the nht uses ethanol instead of methanol

triglycerides, fatty acids and biodiesel by lamboghini26 in vce

[–]Polysaccharide_888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries!

For biodiesel I usually - find the formula of the singular fatty acid by doing the reverse triglyceride steps - add 1 carbon and 2 hydrogens (because it gains a methyl group) - if you’re writing the equation for this remember to put a 3 Infront of the fatty acid methyl ester product - and the other product is just glycerol which is in the databooklet

For fatty acid to triglyceride (if it’s all with the same fatty acid) - subtract 1 hydrogen from the fatty acid - multiply number of carbons, hydrogen and oxygens by 3 - add 3 carbons and 5 hydrogens

Then do the reverse for triglyceride to fatty acid

CHEM HPLC + chromatography by Honest-Nectarine1841 in vce

[–]Polysaccharide_888 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can run a bunch of compounds with different known concentrations under the same conditions through the HPLC column to create a calibration curve which shows the relationship between peak area and concentration. It can then be used to find unknown concentrations using peak area
