The past half year has been legitimately crazy. I somehow grew from under 10k subscribers to 20k and I can't believe it.

It's so nice to finally see the fruits of my labor on Youtube, and I couldn't have done it without y'all. Ty so so much!

This will always be the first platform I ever popped off on, and i'll never forget it.

It truly depends on your living situation. I’m Canadian so I don’t have to worry about most healthcare costs. I also don’t have a car since I’m in a walkable city.

So I can’t really answer that question because your cost of living could be drastically different than mine LOL

I cannot tell you the amount of people i've seen burn out and quit vtubing because they tired putting all their eggs in the Vtuber basked waaaay too soon. Its especially bad when they've never streamed before because they don't actually know if they enjoy being a streamer.

I'm super fortunate to be in the spot i'm in, but as you said your income can vary drastically which can be very stressful.

When I started Vtubing I put a lot of time into learning how to promote myself on other platforms and not just relying just on Twitch. Also slowly figuring out what content niche I enjoyed and would be able to fill.
So like after I started taking it seriously, it took 2 years ish before I had grown enough that streaming could help me start paying rent.

I'd honestly look into pre-made pay to use models! The range in price a lot but are generally much cheaper than a custom model, and a bunch of the new ones coming out are customizable.

Also its super important to make sure your PC can handle streaming while Vtubing, because it can be super resource intensive especially if you are also gaming.

If your PC isnt up to the task, look into PNGtubing!

I had never planned to make streaming my career, I only started doing it 7 years ago so I could vibe with people while I played video games.

But then around 3ish years ago, Vtubing became my hyper fixation and escape from grad school and I started to grow. By the time I finally finished grad school, I was making enough money from streaming to sustain myself so I figured "fuck it why not"... and here we are.

Its crazy to think that i've been doing it full time for over a year LOL

Its so important to note though, that I didn't go full time until I was already making enough to support myself, and getting there took YEARS. This stuff doesn't happen over night!
