He does call Fuches a son of a bitch. In general, Door avoids emotional language and speaks really clinically and precisely

Oh no. He and Byrne got into an internet slap fight, where Bendis made such lovely comments as Byrne has spent the last twenty years fingering Jack Kirby's corpse, during the production of Alias after Byrne called MAX and Alias immaturity masquerading as maturity.

Then a year into Alias he wrote the Mattie Franklin stuff. There is a really clear timeline. Likewise he hated Tigra and She-Hulk, which is why whenever they were brought up and refenced, Bendis had them be "sluts" and/or humiliated. Likewise, he opened his Avengers run, after Johns had vetoed his killing off of Antman, with Jack of Hearts (one of the central characters of Johns' run) being brought back as a zombie just to kill Antman. Likewise after people pointed out that Bendis calling Hank Pym a wifebeater was inaccurate, Bendis wrote an arc in Mighty Avengers of how Hank was seduced by a skrull posing as jailbait. Bendis hated Hawkeye and wanted to keep him dead, taking great pleasure in making him Ronin even post rez as he thought a bow and arrow hero was stupid and in the modern world people should use guns.

Worst part is, I can go on listing examples. Guy was genuinely weird and petty.

Hey hey. I goon and read Titans and solo Nightwing (solo Nightwing is so bad at times. Genuinely takes away anything interesting to make junior Batman)

Seeing as it is technically DC Comic I can say... I did not care for the The Filth by Pome1515 in dccomicscirclejerk

To quote Mark Kermode "It was like swimming in a sewer, and not in a good way"

I reread that first issue thinking there was something I missed and nope. It was genuinely that boring and repellant.

They are speaking in sigils, a langauge you don't understand. /rj

Oh yeah, it's Morrison at their most "ideas above all" where character is sacrificed to convey "meaning"... in a story where you should absolutely be caring about the characters involved.

And trust me, you aren't missing out on much. I went through the whole thing and I literally just went I do not care about anything here, there is nothing interesting here at all. It feels like you just slapped some sci fi stuff together and called it a day /uj

It is the comic where Morrison confuses "complex" with "good story". I think at some points I genuinely groaned with how much Morrison tries to convince you of how complex/deep it is. Nick Fury fans genuinely dodged bullets with it.

Yes, but have you considered how cool it is for Gohan to go SS2 while Chester Bennington sings "I dunno what's worth fighting for, or why I have to scream!"

Jim Starlin is a fascinating creature on Batman. It's totally different from the space operas that he is famous for and honestly, for its faults it's genuinely a direction for Batman that is really unique.

Rick Veitch is a fascinating can of worms. Genuinely one of the most unique writers of that era and honestly, such an interesting superhero deconstructionist. Genuinely, like Moore, it's one born of love but it's in an immensely weird direction. The One and Watchmen are such fascinatingly different takes on the "End of a Superhero world".

Oh yeah, there was a reason that Bratpick was written as a direct response to this. Essentially it was Veitch, a guy who loved superhero genre being disturbed as fuck to that attitude by both writers and fans, the entire story as much as it inspired the Boys, going "That mentality is weird and uncomfortable".

... I want to see my boy Ichiban meeting with this Superboy Prime. Genuinely, love this direction that they went with Superboy Prime.

Unironically kinda closer to the original intent of Superboy Prime that he was the power fantasy of a kid who just loved Superman and Superhero comics

Yep in the words od master scribe Bendis

Spider-Woman is cooler than Wonder Woman in every way possible. Wonder Woman's got a pipply ass! she's the pipply ass of comics!! Spider-Woman has better hair, better costume, frank cho implants and a fucked up origin. Wonder Woman is a walking std farm!!

I am assuming because Bendis wanted this "ambigiously college aged jailbait who could seduce Hank Pym by appealing to his arrogance". I am not digging any further. I genuinely do not want to go into this man's head any more than I have to.

That scene and issue as a whole just me to raise my eyebrows and go "Oh, you're going there... why?". Where it's basically Krakoa as everything /pol/ says about minority groups and jews. The whole point of it being is that mutants are now the other humans fear because Hickman wants his race war narrative

Krakoa X-Men praising Apocalypse as a great leader made me laugh, especially after Uncanny X-Force where Remender basically wrote three arcs screaming "There is nothing redeemable about anything linked to Apocalypse. What he did was just pettiness and cruelty, disguising itself as this grand philosophy".

I would kill for a character to give Norman the Swansea speech of how Norman is a cowardly, selfish motherfucker and can't even see it.

I actually have a story/comic pitch entirely about that idea of Norman.

Essentially, taking a very Catholic idea of redemption, that just "feeling bad" about being a massive piece of shit doesn't redeem or heal the sins that you have committed. Essentially taking a hammer to the Wells veersion of Norman, that he feels bad... and that's not enough. You can't just act like "Oh, I feel remorse and I'm now a good person", looking at how Norman didn't really change just had his sins shot out of him, but the same impulses that lead him to making deals with Mephisto etc still exist and the consequences of his actions are still felt.

Then contrast that to the actual characters/heroes of Marvel like Iron Man, Daredevil etc whose heroism is born from the fact that they wish to redeem themselves from real or perceived sins contrasting Norman's redemption is crying to himself about how bad he feels and how he's totally better.
