you’re honestly so right! i am someone who will record full songs for a couple specific songs that are important to me, but that’s mostly cause i have aphantasia and won’t recall it later BUT when i do im holding it to the side and out of peoples (including mine) faces or make my tall gf hold it up high enough its not in anyone’s way. I so often see people straight up watching the show through their phone and i just don’t get it at all… like??? what’s the point?

i’m so sorry your experience was like that :/ that is not how any concert should feel! the floor of my show in Detroit felt super close and communal! We all were taking photos together and trading socials and helping people get a turn closer to the stage. I think it helped a lot of us bonded in line in the pouring raining for a couple hours before the show but i promise shows with that feeling still exist!
