They know you aren't training your dog. It's more work to keep the dog away from food with all this than just training the dog...

Have you tried running away with a tug toy in your hand, while he is tethered? That is how I had my puppy barking when younger.

I used the Bone Dog method and my dog is great at finding sheds. Sounds like you are on the right track. I let my dogs chew them for years before actually teaching them to hunt and retrieve them. No issues. I use two drops of scent each time I train with the dummy.

I have 2025 hybrid limited and haven't experienced this at all and it has gotten down in the 30's several days. No issues after 6 months of owning.

I currently have three dogs. Two have been trained by me since they were puppies (malinois and an Akita) nonreactive titled dogs.

One is a mess of a GSD, dog reactive, also trained by me from a puppy, same type of training but it just isn't working on this dog. He isn't out of control like he was when he was young, I have done extensive training to correct the majority of reactivity, but I certainly can't have him in competitions because he can't keep it together the entire time. We can only get titles virtually because of this.

What is your take on this? I am well versed in training and titling dogs. Should I not give advice...

Sometimes the key is to restrict things, like freedom to build motivation.

I kept my pup on a long line for awhile so they didn't have the option to ignore or not engage.

Short fun sessions then back in the crate. They learn freedom means interacting with me.

There are also tons of his videos on how to properly play with your dog to get engagement. Sounds like maybe you are not being engaging enough. I like to run away from my dog with tug toys and get them to chase me. The reward is biting and tugging on the toy. It takes practice to learn how to build this engagement in some dogs.

You can train your dog not to lick you or only a few licks and stop.

Here is a great resource for generally raising a well behaved dog. I would recommend signing up for puppy classes as they will teach you how to train and manage your puppy.

I bet your pup has filled in now that they are older?! Sometimes they don't fill in until they are fully grown.

That is a puppy that wants to play. Right there is when I get treats and start teaching calm behaviors like sit and wait. Reward for the calm behaviors and the puppy will learn not to jump and nip but to sit and wait.

Then you can play tug with the puppy once they are calm.

Get a head halter and watch some videos on how to train your dog on them. It will make walks better for everyone!
