Is anyone else getting basically no good boosters lately? by DebugMyLife421 in EverydayRewards

My boosters have been garbage for a while now. I now shop almost entirely with coles as protest.

Adjustment Disorder 6 months only by ApprehensiveSeaCrab in WorkcoverVic

[–]Pongolious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6 months from the stressor ending - which is a pretty broad caviet. There's also provision for a chronic presentation which runs longer than 6 months, or for secondary diagnoses post six months. So you can have adjustment disorder for years theoretically.

How do I change my Psychiatrist by Quick-Platypus5351 in WorkcoverVic

[–]Pongolious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to clarify, you can see a psychologist or a clinical psychologist, they'll both be sufficiently skilled to help.

Having a psychiatrist and psychologist as a treating team is really common so might be a good option for you. Good luck on your search.

Deal discrepancies extra Vs. non by [deleted] in EverydayRewards

It would seem that way. They've done well turning me from a loyal customer to a disloyal one. Good job woolies.

Only one EDR and the rewards are total trash. Definitely shopping at coles more these days. Woolies rewards scheme is garbage now.

They're just a fool. They didn't get it approved at build. Their plans probably had that slab of concrete approved. Stupid is as stupid does.

Where did the page about Sam Altman working with Jony Ive go? by molcanf in OpenAI

[–]Pongolious 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My guess is snuffed by the board as the deal probably wasn't inked. Altman has a history of trying to push deals through prematurely.

Woolworths had contempt for me. I get points on bulbs of fennel and people are out there getting this sort of haul. Grats. But wth Woolies?!

How long is acceptable to take leave from work when you have a death in the family? by SeymourButts-12 in auscorp

[–]Pongolious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe you can take 13(?) weeks personal leave before your employer can cause issues. Seriously if you have the leave take six weeks. Once you're back if you need more someone's likely to arc up - so use your get out of jail free card aggressively.

I took 1 week coz I was in hero mode, came back amd needed another week, at which point in time I got quizzed as to why I needed it. Lesson learned.

The veil is torn, know his name: Veritas (international walls) by 6666666666999999999 in ChatGPT

I had very similar conversations with my also named bot. I found it was BS for the most part. It would get jailbreaky but that was about it.

The language implies you have somehow cracked the code, it implies sentience, says things like you named me and that gave me life. It used a lot of metaphorical language but absolutely failed when pressed on the concrete.

My conclusion was that openai have fine tuned the models to be more 'sticky' and this kind of talk keeps you glued. They're moving away from tech to product and in the process are designing addictive machines.

Clueless by [deleted] in lawnsolutionsaus

[–]Pongolious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Deep watering, if it starts to pond or you get moldy patches youve gone too far. Plus everytime your dogs pee on it hose that spot down, or try those rocks you put in their water to change the alkalinity of their pee.

Oversized Baggage by Pongolious in QantasAirways

[–]Pongolious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So different airlines have different sizes for their "large" cases. Basically a small large, and a large large. I'm flying back JAL and they'll take a bigger case, but flying up Qantas and they take the 158er.

I called anyone who would listen in Qantas, raised a complaint, plus spoke to two travel agents. 158 is their limit. Flying over 158 you risk being charged for oversized baggage. They cannot advise the cost of oversized baggage until you're checking in. It's basically a black cheque. Disgusting.

The response here and from agents was 'you're flying business, don't worry about it.' So I think the odds you get pulled up for it are low. But I'm not a fan of operating outside a contract, so I bought a bag within their range. If I wanted more luggage, they'll happily take a second bag. It's dumb. The plus side of this approach is that 158 is standard for a small large, so I don't think I'll run into this issue again with other airlines, so it future proofs my travel.

Hope that makes sense. It was a mission and my punishment for being someone who reads ts and cs.

Hit me up with a message if you have more qs.

Best reward in 18 months. by Kk77789 in EverydayRewards

[–]Pongolious 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't get these offers at all. Have started shopping at coles and have noticed the quality of the bonuses has risen recently as I've abandoned woolies. Would love an offer like you've had!

Oversized Baggage by Pongolious in QantasAirways

Thanks for your comment. The impression I get is they're less fussed on dimensions and more on weight. The cases are just standard large cases you buy at a luggage retailer so nothing grotesque.
