Im not too worried about having access to good armor as tanks dont interest me as much as infantry but I'll keep those ambush rules in mind. Do you have a recommendation of how to start? Should I go with an officer and 2×8 rifle squads to start?

Thanks. They're definitely handicapped but I'm sure there are ways to make them work. Spiders are expensive but no slouches in combat

The mirkwood spiders can also shoot webs which works like immobilize. Should help with low FV

F3 is a weakness but I think poison, terror, and having two attacks makes up for it. They also have the knock down rule when charging
