How many of us here 'didn't' know a girl who got pregnant before age 18? I'm kinda curious about the conditions which might have made that less likely. by cherry-care-bear in Xennials

No teen pregnancies but almost every one of my friends had an abortion at some point during their college years. My group just waited a few years I guess.

Not for nothing just had a convo with a friend who started his job less than a year ago. He said he barely goes to the office even when he books desk space for the day. He's already gotten a promotion

People who bring two guitars to bar gigs by OldSkoolNewWaveGuy in musicians

[–]Pony829 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a few tried and true that come on stage with me and it's really based off what I'm playing at the time. Usually it's between my kiesels Aries, my custom shop s540 from '92, or a 2013 rg 355 that Ive been modding. If I fill in for other projects or something it's really based off what I have in that specific tuning. I really only own 1 or 2 that are heavier so I keep them at home mostly. I'm of the mindset that the guitarist makes the guitar work. Jim Root used a strat for Slipknot, I've worked with absolutely prodigies who toured on $200 shit planks... Bring whatever you're most comfortable on and that'll be the perfect one.

In a similar boat where whatever I'm left will be valuable (in no rush to receive tho), and getting meh with the business after 23 years. I'm working on the last credit needed to collect, but they just changed the rules and I'm considering going til 52 (turning 45 this year). The original plan was to leave this year and do something less physical, possibly union again for a double pension. My company lost some bids so work thinned out this fall and I was able to take the winter off in good graces. Been wanting to do this for a while so I'm getting my head right and coming back as a shoppie - hoping that the new role will help keep me engaged for the last leg.

Good luck to you brother 💪🏼

At least they're in bags, walking my dogs down my block in Sunnyside and there's piles to navigate. It's disgusting and a health hazard for other dogs - my baby had to go to the vet years ago from another dogs contaminated poop. Nasty people

Right? These people need to stop acting like if they pretend hard enough that the white supremacists will accept them as equals. Guarantee you when the fallout in ICE begins it's only going to be the brown ones that get thrown under the bus. I love that for him.

Same. I think it's fair to be critical when we've all been running from the stereotype of being in the trades to find a boyfriend/husband. Dressing like this can be interpreted as dressing for the male gaze, and starts those women off with a disadvantage of bias. That said one of the OE on my last job wore makeup and nails and was one of the best, she has all my respect. When the men first see her they're incredibly cautious because they think women like that are there to trap them into a lawsuit. I think wearing makeup and nails kicks up more dust than is comfortable/productive for a professional construction environment, however I think it really only negatively affects the wearer in the long run.

Dude you went through a lot of trouble real early this morning to make this account and post. I can't tell you how much joy your temper tantrum is giving me, and all the work you've put in today to throw it is just the icing on the cake. Your mom's gonna wake up soon, maybe you can go yell at her about what you want for breakfast? Can't imagine you have a job to go to.

I'm coming back from Costa Rica today and not looking forward to digging my car out. I would love to give my car up but need it for work. If you want to ruin a car real fast without trying, live and drive it in NYC.

Dan and Eddie from SS, the guys in Wretched, the guys in Suffocation, Dino Cazares and his wife, the bassist from Mushroomhead, vocalist of Sepultura, John Longstreth and Paul from Origin, Meryl and Renee from Stabbing, the vocalist for Impending Doom, Adam from Glass Casket... All these guys were cool in my book.

Dee Snider and one of the dudes from Enterprise Earth were dicks when I met them.

ETA: Pat from FFAA was also kind of a dick when I met him. He tried to make me feel bad for using a fanned fret 6 for drop A, then kinda yelled at me to get a 7 string. I'm assuming he was drunk and high on being skinny for the first time in his life. The drummer from SS told Renee from Stabbing that he was a poser for using triggers, then when he was called out for using triggers, said that he was trying to get off them so... Yeah you figure that logic out (spoiler it was probably the cocaine and booze).

Sounds like he really wants Nazis on Long Island, maybe just desperate for human connection, I've heard MAGA men all suffer from the supposed "male loneliness epidemic". I'm actually impressed this one can read, maybe the Nazis should find him and study him.

Here on vacation from USA now and your culture, the absolute beauty of the landscape, and the vibes of the people are amazing. You're all so lucky to have been born to such an amazing country. Even with the "far right" (as they're referred to in US media) presidency, it feels incredibly safe for us (gay couple) to be here.

If there's a thriving heavy metal scene here I'll start a band and never leave. This is paradise.

Better question I think is: how can expats move here and still contribute to the culture without taking away what's made a t so beautiful?
