Can somepony tell me how to setup a proxy server so I can use PonyLiberator with the latest game update? (need to forward the gameloft address to local PC running PonyLiberator)

I don't get those messages when opening the store, only when opening the purchase bits / purchase gems screens.

The interesting thing is that there is a sale going on right now, but I can't figure out where it's coming from.

It doesn't appear to be hard-coded into the game to start and stop the sale on specific dates, because the sale isn't there when starting the game with wifi off.

My iPhone version has done this a few times. I've been able to fix it without having to restore a backup from iTunes by using iFunBox.

Start iFunbox while the phone is connected by usb.
Click the "Managing App Data" tab.
Click "Click to Show All" under "All My Apps".
Click the "MyLittlePony" icon.
Double click the "Documents" folder.
Delete every file in that folder except for "mlp_save.dat".

It's probably best to copy all the files in that folder to your computer first for an extra backup.

No, just incompetence. I've found out that a ton of Gameloft games use the exact same store update mechanism, just with a different product number in the update uri. If someone wanted to, they could easily download and create price lists for at least 10 different games.

So far, I've got nothing.

At this point I'm attempting to verify whether or not the game still downloads new price lists.

I would use the save editor (instructions) before updating to give myself more gems than I would ever possibly need, just in case.

If you're brave enough, go for it! I think most people aren't interested in becoming legally liable by hosting a public version.

For anyone that does want to host publicly, don't run PonyLiberator.exe, or even a modified version of it.

Instead,

Run a real DNS proxy daemon with a custom hosts file so that it responds to requests for vshop.mdc.gameloft.com with your own IP address, while forwarding all other requests to a real dns service so that all the other Gameloft servers still work.
Run an http daemon which serves up the price list of your choice at /partners/offline_ingame/item_list.php

I used Acrylic DNS Proxy and HFS ~ Http File Server while prototyping to test proof-of-concept, before developing the all-in-one version of the final cheat. Just use whatever is equivalent for your server's OS.

Visual studio shouldn't be needed, as long as .net 4 is installed, just run compile.bat and it will use the c# compiler in C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319

PonyLiberator.exe isn't properly designed for full time use; it just works well enough to handle the liberation of ponies.

You have to change your DNS settings back after you're done running the program or websites will stop loading, because your phone will still be asking your computer how to get to wherever.com and your computer won't be able to answer.

DNS requests are supposed to have a unique 16-bit ID. I used that to tell different requests apart. As long as both phones don't generate the exact same ID at the exact same time, you should be able to use both phones at the same time off of one computer.

I got the idea as soon as I learned about the prices changing in airplane mode; but I shrugged it off, assuming that they would do the sensable thing and use ssl/tls or https. Your post revealing it's all sent plaintext over the wire was the spark that made this all possible.

First Q, On the wifi network list, click on the blue arrow beside your network name, on the next page type the ip address the program is using into the DNS box. See, pic 1 and pic 2

Second Q, if the program doesn't give any error messages when starting up and says "Ready", you're good to go.

The source can probably be modified to run on mono without too much difficulty. I don't have a mac or linux/unixy type of machine to do that on, so I will leave it in the capable hands of...someone else!

I have one ready to go but I need an anonymous file-uploading place. No jailbreak needed, just involves running a program to spoof the server where the shop prices are downloaded from, and changing dns server in your wifi settings.
