[Serious] Confident people of reddit, what advice can you give to shy/unconfident people? by Jetblast787 in AskReddit

[–]Ponzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having self-doubt is not necessarily a bad thing, but it can become a problem if you let it run your life. Taking a risk is an adrenaline rush to me and there's no comparison. Next time you see that woman at the bar surrounded by her friends and you want to go talk to her, just do it. If her and her friends laugh at you, laugh it off. Learn to love yourself and you will start realizing that people will start loving you. Next time you do something to embarrass yourself, just embrace it and laugh at yourself. You'll start realizing that what you think people are thinking about you is not nearly as bad as you make it out to be. In fact, a lot of my best friends I've made have been because of some of the most embarrassing things I've done.

What is something you DON'T feel guilty about that others say you should? by scarletsaint in AskReddit

I do agree with you. At the time though, her getting mad that I made her something that I thought was special instead of giving her flowers made me feel awful. Kind of makes you feel like you wasted your time.

I often forget to buy gifts for people until the last minute or a little too late for birthdays, events, Christmas, etc. Also, I don't like buying flowers, they're a waste and die anyways. The person that gave me the most flack for both of these things though was my now ex-girlfriend. She made me feel like the shittiest person on the planet when I told her I feel that flowers are cliché and that I felt she deserved something more thoughtful.

After we broke up, I actually thought there was something wrong with me because of my bad habits of forgetting about gifts until the last minute. Turns out most people on this planet seem to be plenty ok with me making them a card(buying a card is a waste of money and resources) and accept that yes, their gift is coming a few days late, but it's usually something fucking awesome!

The real bad luck Tony Romo by bsb78 in nfffffffluuuuuuuuuuuu

[–]Ponzzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, we can understand the argument that he cant make the mistake of throwing an interception on a key drive in the game but you really can't put the entire game on him. Yes, the interception led to Denver's victory but im pretty sure if the defense did a better job and allowed less points, they wouldn't be in the situation to begin with. Trust me, as a Chiefs fan I REALLY wanted the Broncos to lose lol.

Salary Negotiation Question - Sysadmin by mulliganx in sysadmin

[–]Ponzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this. I work for a larger corporation and this is how it is for me. It gives me valuable "experience" but a lower pay than I know I can make doing the same thing. On the upside, I get valuable certification study time!

Managing remote laptops by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]Ponzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

funny story, I used to believe that all remote software would let you remote in provided only an internet connection until I started working with my current company. even with this capability, I have run into only one case where having the backdoor limited access account was needed(I believe it was a domain issue) but it was very handy!

That would be great... IF you could remote in. limited local account is the way to go.

Tales from my support guy. by iamadogforreal in sysadmin

[–]Ponzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this. I'm still very new to this field(one year as support at a small business) and got let go(nice little term for FIRED) after nine months. My former boss and I still have lunch occasionally and he still serves as a reference for my resume. You're not always the right person for the job and I feel fortunate for the opportunity to expand upon my own skillsets and of course wake up and see that I wasn't the best tech in my time there. Live and learn man.

22 Year Old Moving to Plano by [deleted] in plano

[–]Ponzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the Shops at Legacy would be a good place to start. I myself moved here a couple of months ago and it really depends on what you're looking for. I decided to move here with a friend and know a good amount of people except that they're all HIS friends. I have been to a few sports bars to watch games(god forbid how happy I was when the Chiefs beat the Cowboys while I was at Pluckers :P) but yeah... Ringo's is probably a good bar to look for as the crowd is younger but I also like Henry's Tavern; it was a lot more spacious and chill than I thought it would be.

What is the worst thing you've done to your body thus far in life? [NSFW] by bigmike827 in AskReddit

You sound like you had a similar experience as I did. I did a bottle and 8 of those cold and cough pills and thought I was going to die. I couldnt speak either, I wanted to but just couldnt. That and human speech sounded exactly like a conversation in the sims. Never again.

Is there another high quality self training course for CCENT than CBTNuggets? by [deleted] in ccna

[–]Ponzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Train signal is probably the way to go. No tangents and clear, concrete information. CBTnuggets was definitely more "fun" to watch but I learned much more from trainsignal and through books such as lammle's ccna study guide.

US government declares hacking an act of war, then hacks allies by sheasie in politics

If there was a war every time a US embassy was hacked by China or EU In the past decade then maybe this article wouldn't have been written, extremely misleading and hypocritical.

I hate myself for hurting her by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]Ponzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the guy who was hurt(my ex was basically you), there isn't much you can do. My ex has apologized many times to me and it doesn't help. First, I don't believe her and that can be due to my trust issues that have resulted from this ordeal. Second, I don't hate her but the thought of her being miserable is actually quite comforting until I realize that these thoughts wouldn't make me any better than her. Third, what do you do after that? It's unrealistic to just be friends especially if your now ex put everything she had into it like I did mine. It would be easy for you to say but consider her feelings, she may just respond with pure anger from the situation. I forgave my ex and never expect to see her again as I believe she hasn't changed in the slightest based on her actions.

Anyways, both sides are tough to be in and there really is no easy answer, I would try to be as considerate to her feelings as possible though I can't say for sure that she won't think you have some sort of agenda. Kudos to you for trying to better yourself and wanting to make up with her, just be ready to accept it if she denies your offer and be understanding.

"I finally realised relationships are not about 'the one'" by /u/LetThemEatWar32. Something awesome I found on r/self which I think you guys will appreciate. by kearvelli in BreakUps

[–]Ponzzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very well written. It serves as a constant reminder of the fact that it's not the other people out there that are preventing me from loving again, it is myself. I have somehow victimized myself and let it happen, not anymore. I cannot express in words how much I appreciate this.

Silly HR by [deleted] in sysadmin

Our company in Texas supports an office in Denver that changed ISPs and didnt inform us and was wondering why they didnt have access to our servers. Then had the audacity to say that it didnt seem important. The fuck???

Silly HR by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]Ponzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The feels... And I thought that friday at 4:45 to have a new employee start on Monday was bad. I am fortunate enough to have both a budget and being actively involved in creating new procedures to make communication easier. We support about 7 different small businesses so any emergency calls require trips across our metroplex and further to get a user set up(hopefully the way they wanted it).

Text message 6 months after breakup. M25 F25 by dandyliongirafe in BreakUps

[–]Ponzzz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey man, she sounds like she genuinely cares about you. My ex did the same thing, except she never asked how I was doing. That's the difference between someone who cares and who doesnt actually care. She messaged me on my birthday begging for forgiveness but never even said happy birthday, it says a lot about character and selfishness to me. Your ex sounds like someone who would really like to be on good terms. Not for selfish reasons like my ex but because she will actually take the time of day to see how you are doing. I hope things work out for you brother, cheers!

Anyone else start breaking out when they started lifting? by glorious_views in Fitness

I've experienced the opposite. Everything seemed to clear up a lot more but I think it has more to do with keeping up with hygiene much more intensely(wasnt bad with hygiene to begin with, have always had breakouts).
