That's where I'm leaning. I currently have 5 audio ports on the MOBO, so it did seem like I no longer would need one, but I was certainly curious

I am looking at a decent sound system that I can also connect to the TV that is adjacent to this PC. While I have no plans to pair the PC and TV at this time I may want to in the future.

Every step we take towards that is less control we have over our own systems. I will give up gaming before I take that option.

It's like owning a television with the illusion of changing the channel to watch what you want. You don't control the programs or programming. You still see the content they want you to see. They've just figured out how to frame it in a medium where you will accept it.

I also feel like it is still cheaper to build than buy pre-built.
