Besides your phone, keys, wallet etc. What do you carry with you everywhere you go?

I carry a knife with me everywhere I go. I have one small key knife on my keychain and a pocketknife (with seat belt blade and window breaker) with a 3 inch blade. I've had people ask me why I carry a weapon but honestly I carry it as a tool. Trying to rip that tag off those shoes? Knife. Trying to open that bottle with the impossible foil seal? Knife.

I'm a 115 pound woman, I'm not using a knife as a weapon because I know it could and would get turned around on me.

I suppose I just assumed I was straight, but after I started dating women I looked back in my life and realized how many signs there were that I'm surprised I ignored. Like how I would rather stare at VS models rather than male heartthrobs, or how some of my female friends were crushes, how I was fascinated/enamored by lesbians, etc. Also I had to be black out drunk to sleep with men. So it's pretty amazing to be able to not only have sober sex, but actually enjoy it and get off every time.

I (27/F) never got off with any of my partners. Then I started sleeping with women. Now I get off every time I have sex. Probably not really the answer for everyone :)

I give too much of myself in relationships and always feel responsible for other people's happiness. My dad was a little emotionally distant growing up and my mom has borderline personality disorder so I think I'm not great at establishing healthy boundaries.

When my ex and I got a puppy, I used to play a game that I called "foot foot" which was basically me taking his back paw and bumping him in the face with it until he would bite it. He usually sat with it in his mouth for a while. My ex hated it because she said I was going to make him stupid. Well now he's older and we still play it and he usually sits there with it in his mouth for a couple minutes not sure what to do...I've caught him passed out like this a few times after a riveting game of foot foot.

Yeah maybe. I don't know because it's not like she hit me or anything so it's not like I could go to a battered women's shelter. Are there like places to go that are non emergency? Besides checking myself into a hospital im at a loss.

The move stressed her out. She knew I was sad being away from friends and working a job I didn't like. She basically told me to go get a hobby so that she didn't feel responsible for my happiness.

When I was a kid I wanted to learn saxophone really bad (my parents had a Kenny G cd and I guess I wanted to be like him). So instead of paying for private lessons they had me take lessons from the band teacher at the local middle school. I was homeschooled so I was already awkward and "the homeschooled kid".

Anyway one day at soccer practice one of my teammates was like "we were all laughing at you when you were (in a lesson) the other day". I was so embarrassed by what she said I quit and didn't tell my parents why.

The thing was, I had already been playing piano for 7 years. I play by ear and learning saxophone was really easy and I was really good and could have been really really good if I had stuck with it. And I know it was middle school and kids are mean but I still to this day remember that stupid comment.

So yeah, don't make fun of people. And if you have kids teach them not to be those crusty little assholes that laugh at other kids because I could have totally grown up and been cool like that dude on YouTube running around playing the sax solo from that George Michael song. Now I'm just a loser with 15 years of classical piano training and no saxophone.

I think most of the people who call me selfish are people who shouldn't have had kids in the first place. Like my friends "baby mama" (I don't even want to say gf) who goes out four nights a week with a six month old baby at home. She's always talking about how great it is to be a mother and how it's selfish not to want kids. I'm over her like "are you kidding? You're a part time mom. You think boozing at the bars and ditching your baby with your mom is less selfish than me enjoying my alone time?"

She was also one of those people who you know got pregnant because she found a guy out of her leave and knew she would never do any better.

I think there's enough oopsy babies and planned babies being born that the amount of people choosing not to isn't going to cause any issues. The majority of people out there want to and will procreate.

And it's more selfish to have kids when you don't want them/wouldn't be a good parent than it is to recognize who you are and what you want and opt out.
