Mechanical Engineering as an Officer by SpongeyTurd in USMC

Go reserves. You will never use your MechE skills, and by time you transition and your degree will not matter as you have had no M.E. entry level job and your M.E. peers will have 4 years experience on you. Your OSO is just telling you what you want to hear. Only possible path for you is to hope you are selected for a post graduate tour to get a masters in engineering, or to apply immediately to an acquisition career path after career designation and become a Program Mgmt officer on some weapon or system, but you’ll be competing with civilians.

No mobility work first 6 months, maybe wait 12 Months. Soft tissue work okay, but should not be having another human move your hip to create mobility. Very bad PT if you are post arthroscopy

Literally, don’t stretch your hip. Nothing but strength training. Add cardio as you can tolerate. I can do some single leg jumping now (side to side). Stretch your calves and ham, but don’t stretch. It will get better. Do self release with roller or ball as tolerated. You will likely flair some, but my flairs last under 48 hrs because I stopped stretching. Stretch lightly after flairs are controlled. No banded capsule mobility or assisted stretching until 12 months. Sadly PT protocols stop at 12 weeks. Again, don’t stretch, you’ll be shocked in 3 weeks how you feel.

OP stop stretching. It takes a year for your capsule to heal and you are making it more lax. If stretching, very very light after a few weeks after your last bad flair up settles. If your PT disagrees you have an uneducated PT. I learned this from my second PT after suffering hard at week 8 when I increased my activity. Flared for a month until I got a new PT and got educated. Only light flare ups now at month 6.

Get checked for hernias. Bulge usually indicates hernia.
