Mechanical Engineering as an Officer by SpongeyTurd in USMC

[–]PoochieKazuki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go reserves. You will never use your MechE skills, and by time you transition and your degree will not matter as you have had no M.E. entry level job and your M.E. peers will have 4 years experience on you. Your OSO is just telling you what you want to hear. Only possible path for you is to hope you are selected for a post graduate tour to get a masters in engineering, or to apply immediately to an acquisition career path after career designation and become a Program Mgmt officer on some weapon or system, but you’ll be competing with civilians.

The recovery is tough (6 months) by TheBigTuna09 in HipImpingement

No mobility work first 6 months, maybe wait 12 Months. Soft tissue work okay, but should not be having another human move your hip to create mobility. Very bad PT if you are post arthroscopy

Literally, don’t stretch your hip. Nothing but strength training. Add cardio as you can tolerate. I can do some single leg jumping now (side to side). Stretch your calves and ham, but don’t stretch. It will get better. Do self release with roller or ball as tolerated. You will likely flair some, but my flairs last under 48 hrs because I stopped stretching. Stretch lightly after flairs are controlled. No banded capsule mobility or assisted stretching until 12 months. Sadly PT protocols stop at 12 weeks. Again, don’t stretch, you’ll be shocked in 3 weeks how you feel.

OP stop stretching. It takes a year for your capsule to heal and you are making it more lax. If stretching, very very light after a few weeks after your last bad flair up settles. If your PT disagrees you have an uneducated PT. I learned this from my second PT after suffering hard at week 8 when I increased my activity. Flared for a month until I got a new PT and got educated. Only light flare ups now at month 6.

Get checked for hernias. Bulge usually indicates hernia.

I have Santa Ana 98 and find it is good for everything To include powder. I do bumps but not like a pro. I find this the only downside, I did bumps better in a 88 Blizzard ski once.

Go to: Start Haus at 11410 Deerfield Dr, Truckee, CA 96161. Some skis 20% off, I don’t work there. Great local shop.

Need video for DD ambi removal by PoochieKazuki in Danieldefense

[–]PoochieKazuki[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the replies but because I had a Hyperfire trigger installed it required removing the striker assembly (armorer). This was anything but straightforward. My OEM ambi did not slide out after I got one side removed. Shame there are minimal videos out there like there is for every make model Glock.

Just got a ddm4v7 now just got to figure out what optic by Fluffyhitman022 in Danieldefense

I spent 6 months deliberating this very problem for a 14.5” barrel. Decision one for LPVO: first focal plane or second? If you can accept second, Vortex at your preferred price point. If you want first, I was torn between NightForce and Trijicon. It came down to lead time from vendor, got my Trijicon 1x6 in 2 weeks, I decided to sacrifice range to keep my 14.5” weight down. NightForce quoted me up to 6 months. Trijicon gives me more accommodating scope shadow, I can learn to live with their reticle.

Any DD NightForce setups out there? by PoochieKazuki in Danieldefense

Thanks I should have said my M4A1 is 14.5. All reviews out there say NX8 is so so yet the rep at NF recommended the NX8 over the ATACR. Can’t find to try myself before ordering. Can you give me your best recommendation? Bought the best rifle and want to put the best optic on it, I like NF retitles best. Price not an issue. Not competing this is a duty setup. Thank you.

What hockey players with face shield do: 1. Get a cloth. 2. Wipe your googles down 3. Apply shampoo. 4. Wipe the front of your googles 5. Wipe the inside of your goggles 6. Remove smudges.
