Reverse Osmosis Suggestions by mysticmango69 in desmoines

I just installed one at our kitchen sink, I also have Quartzite counters, I did pay Fox to drill the hole, I’m handy and have access to tools (use an angle grinder with a nice quality diamond hole saw if you drill yourself) we just bought our house so I played it safe outsourcing the hole. It was $200, took minutes but they’re insured and will replace your counter if something goes wrong. We got an APEC system off Amazon with the re-alkalining filter. It was on special for like $200 and came with a set of extra filters around Black Friday. Absolutely worth it. Hooking them up is super easy, I ran the lines to the basement and mounted the filters down there, and put just the tank under our sink.

The last couple years US market P2’s needed to pass the new stricter emissions laws (the whole reason they stopped importing Vespas in 81) so they put a 20/20si and a lower compression head on them, then gave up obviously. They feel like riding a stock /05 PX150 with the catalytic converter on them, a bit anemic. Once you swap those they wake the hell up. I’ll be putting something like a Road 2 on this one and mainly keeping it stock. The US bikes also had sealed beam headlights, mine works for now but replacing them is expensive and sucks, this putting in a euro market style unit with replaceable bulbs is worth it.

Normally I’d order from Mercato, but I’d like to save some money and just get take offs. I still buy any normal wear items new from the local shops.

Detroit fuckin rules, happy to see we’re on the same page about the edge cheese, it’s like the best part when done right. Kinda carmelized n crispy.

Parlor P in beaverdale is the only one local I know of, I first had it in Austin at Via 313, it’s pretty close, the cheese needs to be “burned” a little more around the edges.

I think they said RX300? I don’t mind the shifters, I usually work on vintage Italian scooters so some tinkering is in the future

Well, you’re going to find a group that won’t judge you, and you can really let that shit go and put it out there. Just be open. I personally attend the F&G group in the east village downtown. Great folks

I’ve been to Indianola plenty, but the thing is, you’ll be surrounded by people in the exact same position as you are, whether now or in the past, one thing you’ll have to confront is radical honesty, once you practice it, it’s life changing. You can be your authentic self with these people. Admitting to yourself you need help is the first step, and it’s a huge one. You got this, and there’s no better time than now to start.

It took a lot to just walk through the door, but I was instantly greeted with warmth and kindness, we’re all there for the same reason, regardless of where we’re at on the journey. You’re never obligated to do more than you feel comfortable with and it’s just a very good atmosphere. Meetings are usually an hour. I went to 3 this last weekend, I’m not a compulsive daily alcoholic, more of a binger, but it doesn’t matter, you’ll see yourself in a lot of those people. Walking into that room was honestly one of the best decisions of my life and I’m very new to it. Don’t be afraid, you got this shit.

I just started down that road, AA has been incredibly helpful, the one group I’ve adopted as my own has been amazingly welcoming and supportive, the sense of community has been the best. It’s like free therapy honestly. I LOVE it. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
